I have taken Dr. Turner for Pre-Mod Civ and Methods, and I am currently in Ancient Civ. She has been EXTREMELY helpful to me, especially in the upper level classes, she grades very fairly and is very willing to help her students. If you're a history major, you should def take her, she loves history majors. Awesome lady

I've taken Dr. Turner's classes for most of my time at ASU. Formerly I was going to the University of Texas, and let me tell you this: Dr. Turner far exceeds the professors I encountered in Austin. She is a world class professor and I am SO thankful to be able to learn from her! I would advise that you take notes in order to survive her tests.

She's amazing. She keeps on task enough to make sure we learn the material, but goes off task just often enough so that we don't get bored or overwhelmed. She has a gift for making the subject material come alive. She encourages student participation and discussion, in her class its not just about memorizing facts, you get a deeper understanding

I've had Dr. Turner for 3 classes. A lot of people are complaining that she doesnt teach, but since I'm more of an independent learner anyway I didn't mind. And she's always willing to help. Anything I didnt understand I could email her and she'd get back to me within a few hours. I had her for Methodologies and she's improved my skill

I liked Dr Turner alot. I was disappointed she didn't lecture more. She actually instructed maybe three classes all semester, the rest of the semester was filled with hour after hour of student oral presentations..sort of disappointing.I'll take her again, and hope I get to learn from her!It was an easy class though.She's brilliant, if a bit lazy.

Not sure how she got all those awesome reviews down below. She is the most disorganized professor I have ever had. She is EXTREMELY unclear, her lectures are rediculous, and her tests impossible. Her lectures are a waste of time: Expect to have to teach yourself all the material found in the textbook. Unclear about what is on her exams. STAY AWAY!

Unless you like teaching yourself the entire ancient history textbook STAY AWAY! Her lectures are painful to go to and they don't help on the test. the tests are a joke, im not sure if she knows whats on them. she is very nice and seems passionate about what she likes but some info she just throws out there like it is not important.

She is very nice. She keeps a smile on her face (even when she was sick). You have to be in class to listen to her lectures and take notes. She makes history very fun and she tells wonderful stories relating to the subject. She gives stugy guides that are somewhat helpful. Overall her class is great. Plus she have long, pretty, fluffy hair.

Ok here's the deal. She's INCREDIBLY unorganized and her lectures are brutal to sit through. She would make a great middle school history teacher. The tests are retarded, to quote a classmate "they are like trivia." You will learn nothing or nearly nothing; however, a ton of extra credit will make this an easy A.

I'm a history major and I appreciate the enthusiasm she has but she ultimately frustrated me. I'm also an honors student and these tests were ridiculous. She's VERY unorganized: always forgetting her power points. She also focuses on minute details on her tests, or doesnt include dates to clarify. Idk if i would take her again.

Had her for Historical Research Methods (Fall '08) and actually looked forward to going to her class. She was a HUGE asset to my writing skills, one of the most knowledgable professors at ASU. You will work a bit for your grade, but when the class is finally over you'll be thanking Dr. Turner and not "God" lol! Don't take this class from ne1 else!

I HATE alchemy, but once I got started on the paper she was extremely helpful and has been ever since. If she knows you are doing your best she will be happy to help but if you slack off she will lose interest in you and your grade. The final exam was awesome! I would recommend her for any history class.
