he wasnt a horrible professor but i had little to any help. Went to tutoring several of times and the tutors couldnt even figure out the answer the work, it was that hard. He uses Owl and its very frustrating. + all exams are lockdown and camera so know your stuff before taking them.. Take someone else!

Dr. Olive is the best teacher! He really works with the students and wants you to understand. The OWL homework can be very time consuming so do NOT start on it the night before it is due

Dr. Olive has really great lectures! He explains concepts really well. The tests arent easy but they arent super hard either. If you do well on your OWL it can bump you up a letter grade. He also gives a lot of extra credit!

Excellent. Explains things very clearly and is entertaining. Gives at least 20 points of extra credit through OWL and events, saved my grade. Also drops lowest test and replaces it with final if higher. Attendance not mandatory. Final is standardized for general chemistry, which makes it awful. All OWL is due the day of each test, so you have time.

Dr. Olive is a fantastic teacher. There is a lot of complaining about the OWL homework, but it will save your life; you are given ten attempts for each question, so a 100 on OWL is guaranteed if you try. OWL counts the same as the final, so a letter grade. He also gives about 25 points of extra credit through OWL and chemistry meetings.

Dr. Olive is a great teacher and a funny guy. OWL homework online is a pain in the butt, but it gives you a lot of points if you actually put forth the effort. He has 4 tests and a final. Explains things very well and helpful to your needs.

Dr. Olive is very outgoing and charismatic. He makes you think of chemistry in real world kind of way, not just equations and rules. The book isn't necessary but you do need the access code for OWL homework, which really helps. He's the chairperson of the chem department, so he's usually busy, but when you can get him, he'll help you with anything.

While I took Olive's class he was teaching many other classes and was very spread thin and it effected our class and how far we got in the lectures. He was a good teacher, but we got too far behind and because of that I didn't do well on the last test or on the final. I also HATE the online home work we had to through Owl worst part of the semester

Went into this class thinking I would barely make a C. Olive is very helpful and with all the hw and ec he offers its really hard to not pass his class. Just show up do your work and try hard on his test and you will do great. He's always available and encouraging you to keep up. I made an A in his class after making a C and a D on 2 of his test.

Dr. Olive's Chem 111 class was one of the single most positive experiences in my academic career. His enthusiasm for the subject matter; the effort he puts into each and every lecture; and the genuine joy he takes in teaching will leave you with a profound appreciation of Chemistry. Amazing professor. Highly recommended.

Dr. Olive is an amazing teacher. He's very easy-going and his class is fun to attend. His lectures are very easy to understand. He gives plenty of extra credit opportunities, MC tests, and enough homework that you'd have to try to make a bad grade in his class. Loved every second of his class and would highly recommend him to fellow students.

He is the best teacher Ive ever had...the class can get difficult but if you do what he tells you, you will do good. He is very funny too and has a great personality. He is VERY willing to help! I recommend him for sure!
