This man cannot stay on topic. He constantly talks about his life and spends very little time doing his job. He is is sexist, racist and offensive in every possible way. He simply does not teach. It is not very advanced or difficult math at this level so you can pass his class if you read your manual.

Comment:

Mr. Martin has an awesome personality which makes him a great teacher. Of course he skips a few steps and teaches quickly but the class is only 50 minutes so he manages time very well. If you study on your own or in groups you will pass with no hesitation. He also will stay and help if needed outside of class. My current letter grade is an A.

Mr. Martin is a challenging teacher. He does not use blackboard, he ALWAYS gives you a review the day before the test, the review is ALMOST identical to the test by question and by type. Those help alot. If you don't pass his class it is your own fault. He is a very chill professor, and is very nice!

Comment:

Any kind of math beyond the math used to balance a checkbook has been very challenging to me. This Pre-Calculus Trigonometry class is no exception to being challenging to me. However, Mr. Martin makes it worth showing up for these fast-paced Summer 2014 classes. I expect to get something both useful and positive from this class. :)

Great. Fast pace teacher. Gives homework to help practice. Answers homework questions. Doesn't use blackboard. Gives study guides. PRACTICE the study guides they help you A LOT for the test. Sometimes give bonus on test. Passionate about his teaching. If you work hard you will pass.

The GOOD side he works problems on the board,he gives you a study guide on tests,NO Quizes,ok guy as long as you are respectful to him. The BAD side can not use a calculator in Algebra,goes over things at a fast pace,some days you wanna tell him to teach or your leaving because he likes his life stories. Nice guy and knows his Math.

Great teacher! He shows you the easy and fast way to handle math problems. It's no cake walk though, you need to know your stuff on the tests. He keeps the class very interesting and is extremely hilarious. I would recommend him to everyone.

Martin while both interesting and passionate about his teaching method is also stringent and expects his students to put effort into earning the grade; no free rides here. Yes it's true he shares his life takes on the class but there is a reason for this - it keeps the class fresh/alert in a mentally intensive subject. The man knows how to teach.

I took Martins and utterly failed. while I though it was the fault Of the teacher I realized, that he (as all teachers who are worth their salt) expects you to read the chapter and if you need serious help to go to the student success center. I retook his class and received an A+. His stories are meant to give your brain a break.

An absolute failure as a teacher, because he doesnt teach. Instead he spends the entire class reflecting on life experiences and sharing his HIGHLY opinionated views on life. You should expect to be offended at least once a week, and if you are bad at math, you should expect to fail. Expects you to ask questions in the success center, NOT in class.

while it's true he's nice, amusing, and means well...he strays off topic quite often. if you've been out of school for a while like i have, you might need someone who will take the time to explain things a little more. younger students or those who excell in math and need less instruction will love him.

Mr. Martin is a cool guy without a doubt. He will keep you awake and is actually extremely intelligent in his subject. He just doesn't have the gift of teaching. He moves extremely fast and runs off on tangents but still expects you to know the material during the time that was lost when he was on his tangent. Guess Iv seen worse.

One of my favorite teachers in FTCC so far. I liked him a lot..he was always willing to help any student in need of it. He does go off to talk about things other than math, but sometimes you do need a break from the math so I had no problem with it!
