By far the easiest classes in the Bio department are the one's taught by Dr. Englin. Easy A. And if not, it's your fault sadly...

Classes with Englin are generally easy to take and easy to come out of with an A. Main thing-be sure to take good notes and study those.

Dr. Englin is an awesome, kind, sincere, man but when it comes to teaching is very sub-par. All he does is give definitions, doesn't teach the material, and then you hardly even learn anything in the class. He gives you lots of advice as a student and in life but if you actually want to learn, take a different professor.

I took a winter session. I really think Dr. Really good professor. I wasn't ever interested in astronomy, but he made it interesting and I really learned a lot. The only problem is that you have to write a 10-12 page paper and most of the topics only have 6 pages worth of info. I got an A- in the class

Dr. Englin is an excellent teacher. He truly cares about his students and is more than willing to help them in any way. He is very clear in his approach. He knows and loves his topic matter, and loves to pass it to his students. He is known for his kind disposition, laid-back approach, and his sage advice (though he does recycle his jokes).

I love Dr. E! He is such a help to his students and genuinely wants to see you succeed in his classes. As long as you actually PAY ATTENTION in class you should do extremely well as he is easy to listen to and learn from. Take his class!

Dr. Englin is a really nice guy, even if he does like to tell the same stories over and over. His exams really helped me prepare for grad school by forcing me to really explain an entire process in detail, which is what I had to do on my exams.

Nice guy, but seriously the only prof who's ever put me to sleep during class. Students are fairly divided on good ol' dennis. half (mainly those devoid of Y chromosomes) see him as a kind of doddering grandfather figure and are more than happy to listen to him repeat the same mediocre stories ad nauseum. if you can, take anderson or francis.

The one thing that impressed me with Professor Englin is the fact that he cares about his students. He made the Astronomy class that I took extremely student friendly. Great Professor, take his class

Dr. Englin has great examples and is hilarious with his stories. He makes the unreachable molecules seem touchable, and in some way they actually make sense! But most importantly he is more than a teacher, he becomes a mentor and a friend.
