He is extremely difficult to work with in online classes. His information is very misleading and then when you actually ask for help, he tells you more misleading information. I've quoted him verbatim in follow up questions, and he denies it then responds with a different answer completely not relevant to the question.

Dr. Bracey is the worst professor Ive ever had. He is very unorganized with both the lectures and the assignments. Does not use canvas and does not give you your assignments back, you dont know where your grade stands all semester since he is behind on grading. Does not care about his students and did not make the shift to remote classes easier.

Comment:

Very extreme teacher for a very extreme class. The hardest part is the heavy workload. He is extremely opinionated and pushes opinions. He is well respected. Very liberal and teaches mostly liberal viewpoints. If you do the work and come prepared, you'll be good. That being said, I learned so so much from this class and it was worth it.

Dr. Bracey is a good sometimes funny professor who loves to teach but be prepared to write and read! 3 books needed. There are 3 blue book exams:1 open book/notes,1 take home,1 no book/notes. There are 5 movie reviews,1 research paper (10 pages, only 3 sources from internet, 12 total),1 group presentation & 1 book report & 1 extra cred. book report

Don't take this class if you are not willing to put up with the workload. He'll make you do 5 movie reviews, a 10 page research paper, and a 5-6 page book review. And you'll also have to read 2 books. He is a great teacher, be sure to come into class open minded and ready to discuss.

DISCLAIMER: If you are sensitive, hate strong language, and lazy. This is not the class for you. Dr. Bracey is a great professor as long as you try to work hard and do your best then you will be okay. He does not play any games, what he says goes THAT IS IT. Reading is a MUST and writing is critical to pass this class. Notes are oral, so LISTEN.

From the very start of his class he tells you exactly how it will be. His political stance is obvious in his teachings. However he does leave room for "informed discussions" on any topic. Do not try and get into an arguement with him, he will win everytime. He is a very old school, socratic teacher. No tech, Lots of reading, lots of writing.

Although he is very knowledgeable in the Political Science class, he has bad manners, harsh demeanor, uses unprofessional language in class regardless of ladies around. I took his 6 weeks summer class and withdrew due to his unpleasant presence and demanding homeworks: read 3 books, 2 essays, 1 research, 1 presentation, 1 Book review and 3 exams.

His class is so much fun because you can alway learn something new everyday. Pro's He gives good grades as long as he know you worked hard to earn it He will let you express yourselves in class and might contradict you here and there but still will listen. Con's Work! Too much paperwork! Makes you work hard for that 4 units!

I had Dr. Bracey a while back. He is a pretty solid professor. Hes a pretty die-hard conservative, but he knows a thing or two about politics on both ends of the political spectrum. You can learn a lot in this class. I highly recommend him:)

I really enjoyed his class. I always hated politics and everything it stood for, but he taught us much more than that. I was intimidated by him at first but he turned out to be my favorite professor. If you are a slacker this class probably isn't for you. You have to work for your grade but it isn't difficult if you attend class and pay attention.

Take Dr. Bracey if you want to get more than your moneys worth. You can learn a lot from him and he makes things simple. Hes really hilarious too! Awesome guy. If you pay attention and take some notes in his lectures, youll find that his tests are EXTREMELY easy. :)

It's a 4 credit class and he makes sure you know that. It's not a ton of work, but it is a lot, including a 10 page research paper. Exams will make your hand hurt from writing a lot in little time. I did enjoy his lectures but would have like more from the "other side." I did learn a lot about how our government, with a lot of social commentary

He is an amazing professor and is incredibly smart he is hard to read sometimes but then he will make a joke he's actually pretty funny lots of homework and assignments but overall easy grader if u do the work and show up u will pass

As of Fall 2017. I WOULD NOT TAKE MORE THAN 2 OTHER CLASSES ALONG WITH THIS CLASS!! The class is 2 classes rolled into one. We had 10 page research essay, along w/ 5 movie reviews essay. A group presentation we had to talk about an entire chpt in one of the textbooks. A book report. We had 3 textbooks too. Essay tests, PLUS MORE!!! BE WARNED

Dr. Bracey is a fair-minded professor who only want you to learn something about politics. He is a fair graded, and back up his opinions with facts. He never lied to us. And he told us from the very beginning that he was a progressive liberal, and proud of it. You can learn a lot if you put your prejudices aside.
