Comment:

The class is outdated compared to the textbook, however when you ask for help he is very accessible and often answers almost immediately. This class is tough and time consuming, but is very informational if you work for it. Overall, I don't regret taking the class but you will have to work extremely hard to get an A.

Comment:

He was one of the main professors in Health Sciences until he jumped ship to LEJA. I took 4 classes with him, and you LEARN. Very big on providing applicable examples. Talks very fast at times but once you get used to it it isn't intimidating. Clear expectations on harder assignments, don't overthink just do what is asked for.

Final is tough. Most of the quizzes can be found online. Class is based off of discussion posts and tests each week and two papers. Papers are easy and discussions require you to read the textbook.

Best Professor i've taken at western. He is very knowledgeable and gives back very useful feedback. You will learn a lot in his class regardless of what class you take. I have taken multiple classes from him. The hardest class is WMD class but if you study you should pass. GREAT teacher and will motivate you, I would highly recommend him.

You need to know basic math. I would read the chapter before every class. Dr. Johnson supplements with great information to help you learn the concepts. Tests were fair but not easy.

Epidemiology was a tough class. The tests are multiple choice but very well done. You have to read the text and study the notes. Dr. Johnson is a great lecturer. He is also there for you if you have any questions. Had to write an epi investigation paper also.

Dr. Johnson is a great professor. You will not be bored in his class. He talks very fast and everything you need to know for the tests are in his notes, so take good notes and memorize them. He also shares good life lessons: don't get in debt, healthy eating advice, and good relationship advice. Best professor I have had in graduate school.

Dr. Johnson, hands down the best teacher. I took his Grad class as an undergrad. Only complaint is I wish we had this class more than once a week. Class is very interesting if you like evacuation. He is one to tie in the reality of the job to class so if you can't handle that you wont do well. The egress plan you write takes time but he helps alot

Great class and teacher! If you show up to class you will have no problem. Class is enjoyable because Johnson is so funny and tells great stories. Not much work at all, 3 tests and a few papers.

Dr. Johnson is really knowledgable. He speaks really really REALLY fast. Gives study guide... but its still not clear about what is on the test. Very Fair grader, and does take off questions that are "bad" questions. Gives EC out after EVERY test, SHOW up to class after test. Fun class and still interesting

If your signed up for this class get ready it is going to be the hardest class you have ever taken at western. tests are impossible. One of the best teachers I have ever had so much knowledge on everything, extremely interesting material. you will have to spend 10-15 hrs a week out of class to do well. extremely strict on tardiness amazing class

Dr. Johnson is hands down the best teacher @ WIU. most intelligent person i've ever encountered. this class takes work tho. 3 tests. its mostly theory so theres a lot of short answer question worst a lot of points. but he's so amazing it makes u wanna do well in his class. i absolutely LOVE Dr. Johnson. all teachers should be like him

really good teacher!!! he can answer any question you might have. his tests are pretty straight forward. and he grades them 3 times. his class is interesting and very informative. its a pretty fun class. he'll always keep your attention. not boring at all . definitely worth waking up for !!!

Comment:

Love this class, I actually enjoy getting up in the morning to listen to his stories. His tests are not entirely easy, but he does grade them on the curve very generously. Takes attendance, but also gives extra credit occationally just for being there. Notes are posted on blackboard, so you don't even have to take notes, or even buy the book.
