Comment:

One of the BEST professors I've ever had. His lectures are really interesting & funny, he manages to make history really fun. He has really clear grading criteria & tends to give 1-2 pts. extra credit during most assignments. Also, all of the quizzes & exams are based on his lectures so make sure to take good notes! Can't recommend him enough!

Comment:

The history lecture part of the class is nicely informative but he does go off on tangents a lot. So, if you like hearing lots of unrelated personal stories or about how much Trump sucks then this will be a great class for you. I personally don't like classes where large amounts of time are spent not doing the actual classwork. To each their own.

Comment:

Professor Narveson makes history interesting. No textbook needed, he doesn't teach by reading off slides like most teachers. The lectures are very informative but aren't boring. If you go to class and take notes you will pass. Everything on tests and quizzes will be directly from his notes so attendance is key. Highly recommend.

Comment:

One of the easiest professors I have ever taken. He doesn't take attendance, and there is almost no homework. His lectures are extremely interesting and clear, it made me look forward to going to his class. His quizzes and tests are very easy, he literally gives you the answers beforehand. Just show up to class and you will pass for sure.

He is lecture heavy so be in class every day. His lectures are boring and he rambles on about stupid things. There will be 3 easy 11 question quizzes, 2 midterm exams with 6 ID's and 2 Free response, and 1 Final. All of these are easy if you listen to lectures or just read the outlines he gives you. Get all the points you can get in this class.

He made what he was teaching very interesting. I loved how he would tell us tales to make us laugh and yet use that to relate to the topic of what he is teaching. He goes over what exactly you need to study for in order to pass the exams which helped a lot so pay attention. The pop quizzes weren't hard if you had payed attention and took notes.

Professor Narveson is a legend! He teaches and makes it fun for the class every day! Lectures are important because you may need to pay attention for notes and what to expect for exams and pop quizzes. He's funny and caring. Pop quizzes are cool and funny because sometimes, he leaves the last question as a funny one. Definitely take him and study!

One of the best professors that Ive ever met. I learned so much with little amount of time. His lectures is not boring at all and usually makes it entertaining. I hope all professors are like Mr. Narveson. We need more professors like him.

His personality is out of This world. there be days when I come to class sad and coming to his class made my day better and strong. I loved this class and you recommend this class to anyone who needs to take this. This class honestly made me consider to want to switch my major into a history major. All you need to do is to show up at the lecture and take notes. He has been one of my favorite professors on campus and would recommend taking this class. Easy A and you laugh.

Took this History 17 B with this teacher again and all I can say that Narvason is one of the best teachers here at EVC hands down and if you want a class that doesnt have a lot of hw take this teacher. His midterms are based off the study guide that he gives and his quizzes are based on the topics that we have learned throughout the week.

Hands down the best History 17A & History 17B teacher at EVC! No homework, in order to pass take notes and complete the study guide for the midterm and final . One map assignment, 3 quizes and one primary source assignment! Take him you wont regret it!

It says HIST17B on the course code but this goes for both HIST17b and HIST17A having taken both courses it is safe to say this professor is simply the best. Super funny. Clear grader. 17/10 (haha) Register if you can! take notes, study them and you'll pass! (( don't try skipping class and googleing the answers, he tells you exactly what he wants))

Had Narveson for 17A so for a student to take his follow up class 17B shows just how amazing he is. It's an easy A if you know how his class works, just take notes, (record lectures if you have trouble focusing) study your notes and you'll pass. He tells you EXACTLY what he wants on his tests. The best lectures. I actually enjoyed history!!
