I found the content very difficult, but I'm really glad I had Gary as a professor. He was very flexible with office hours and made it very easy to come to him. He is easily one of the friendliest professors on campus. If I ever had to take a CS class again, there is no one else I would want to teach. He is very knowledgeable with the material.

Gary was a great teacher! Gary is a bro, he may not be the youngest professor but he acts like a chill student teacher. Attendance was not mandatory, but if you don't attend class at all you will fail.

Gary is awesome. He's extremely knowledgeable in CS and very willing to help. Unfortunately, because he knows a lot, he sometimes forgets a lot of things aren't common knowledge which leads to questions later. Honestly though, this is a minor issue. If you can take him for a CS class, do it. Two tests and 4 projects in total.

gary is one of the best professors I have had, really goes the extra mile to help his students. he is always available to extra help. Everything is about his students and getting them to success. few tests, few papers, easy grader. attendance is suggested but if you miss it wont be hard to catch up.

Making class was a pilot and it was obvious. He came across as not really knowing what to do with the class time, and I felt that I didn't learn a whole lot from him directly. On the other hand, it was a personal project based class, and I felt that his personalty really pushed me to throw myself into the material.

Gary's main goal is to teach the students who want to learn. If you care, he definitely cares! If something is unclear in class, in his office hours he will work with you until you understand the topic. Two or three tests with a homework assignment every week. I definitely advise taking one of his classes if you get the chance!

Super funny guy, he keeps you entertained in an otherwise mundane subject. Class is very easy, with any studying at all an A is almost guaranteed. His office hours are not only helpful, but a blast.

Gary's a great guy. He's really really smart, but sometimes he had trouble simplifying technical ideas for the average student. Gives homework about once a week and two exams the whole semester. Gary will help you as much as he can but he's not a pushover, so don't expect answers! Overall, I would take recommend, with a few precautions.

Really great guy, very available if you need help and willing to give extensions if you have a legit excuse. Tests are kind of difficult, mainly because the book we used this year generated all the HW questions via an online program, while the test was actually written by Gary. It's not an exciting class, but if you have a choice, take Gary.

Don't buy the textbook, but everything else about the class was amazing. Gary really knows how to teach a language to a class that does not have any experience in csci. I myself was fairly experienced in programming prior to the class and I got an A so he is fairly easy as well. Great Guy!

Gary is an all-around good guy. He is very helpful and available. The work he gives requires thought, but is not overly taxing. While he isn't a push-over, he truly wants you to succeed. Not quite as funny as Prof. Goldweber, but still pretty amusing. Will sit and chat with you when you have questions, even when they're not about a class issue.

Spen so long- think they've reformatted the course in the past 2.5 years (when I took it) so just have 1 piece of advice. If you must take this class and don't have prior interest, DON'T take it first semester freshman year- no matter who's teaching it. In any case, learn your classmates' names b4 actually hoping to start to learn c.sci.

He's a great guy and very helpful. The homework is a breeze, and exams aren't too bad. The only downfall is that he is a little unclear in class, so you usually have to go to his office hours to help clarify work.

I didn't like his teaching style (unclear and couldn't tell what parts of what he was saying was important info). Everyone played computer games all class. Really nice guy though! :)
