Comment:

This man deserves a raise. He is hilarious and is by far the BEST professor I've had at Xavier. His lectures are kinda boring sometimes but he makes them funny and he genuinely loves what he does and his students. He also LOVES birds. Shout to the Aves clade and the bird watching club. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN YOU WONT REGRET IT!!

Comment:

Dr. Farnsworth is the BEST Bio professor for Gen Bio II. Although his lectures may seem a bit dull, he GENUINELY cares for his students and fosters their success in any way possible. Also, he's super realistic and funny. All around great guy! Would totally take his class again. Gotta love those birds! (PS join bird watching club)

Dr. Farnsworth basically reads off the slides and then gives a shameless plug for birdwatching club every time he wants to explain something. He also drinks mystery tea in an exotic witchcraft looking cup everyday. Love the man.

Comment:

Dr. Farnsworth is an amazing professor and he makes the class really enjoyable by cracking jokes. Lectures are fun and he incorporates a lot of group discussions to encourage participation. A few assignments on scientific articles which is good practice for understanding them and tests are very straightforward.

Doesn't give back grades or feedback from quizzes and homework before tests so you are going in blind. Doesn't have interesting lectures and can sometimes flip flop between what he wants written in the instructions and what he tells you. He is not very helpful when asked questions.

Very straightforward class. He takes one day to lecture per chapter and then a few scientific articles. The tests are somewhat more difficult than you think, and there is always one or two questions that come from material in the book that wasn't covered in lecture so I would recommend at least skimming the book. Good class overall, would recommend

He's a great guy. He shows passion in the things that he teaches. Very reasonable teacher. There are 4 tests, a group presentation(easy), and a final. He gives helpful practice tests and posts his noted online(sometimes need modification). Show up to class and take notes and you'll be good.

Comment:

Farnsworth is a great guy and I would highly recommend him. He is very quirky and passionate about his subject. His regular tangents in class made a kind of boring subject bearable, and his tests weren't too bad. I would recommend going to class, but possible to get at least a C if you don't. Loves birds!!!

Dr. Farnsworth's lab is pretty good especially for non-science majors. He can be tough but he tells you what you need to know for the test. He is also very helpful outside of class and allows you to go over your test

He was a little awkward at explaining and trying to clarify, but he knew his stuff. He's willing to answer questions and has a pretty easy going personality. Tests were kind of hard, but it was a lab.

He's not phenomenal, he's not abysmal. Participation shirks a little in his classes, so just try to speak up at least once a class period. His assignments aren't very tough. He's pretty much a general professor.

Farnsworth made this class as fun as possible and always answered any questions that students had. The material is alot of memorization, but the tests weren't too terribly difficult. Great professor!

Comment:

I loved Dr. Farnsworth. Had him at 8:30am and he always tried to get us to talk and participate in class even though it was so early. Tests were easier compared to my other biology classes. Consisted of easy multiple choice questions, definitions and essays. Great guy, obsessed with birds. Have to do a group project. Highly recommended.

Dr. Farnsworth is a great guy, obsessed with birds and somehow manages to incorporate that into the lecture even if were studying plants! He's really nice, provides a very helpful practice test-he's not easy, but good grades are attainable if you study.

Dr. Farnsworth is extremely smart and knows his Gen Bio II lab. He is very kind and willing to help; however, he can be tricky when lab quizzes and tests come around. Overall, he is a great professor and I learned a whole lot. He is also generous with grading. Recommend!

He's okay, very dry lectures. Really have to study the notes, definitely go to SI and find a good SI teacher. Goes off old tests, so finding old tests could be clutch too. Takes off the essay on tests if he doesn't like you, but it's not too bad, can definitely get an A.

Comment:

Farnsworth is really goofy! His class isn't easy and he teaches from powerpoints, which can be very boring. Write down lots of notes on the lecture outlines when he explains them, and read the book to fully understand or go to SI. Tests aren't too bad, but it's anatomy, so you're going to have to study if you want an A.
