This was my third class with Sra. Sotelo, and she was still amazing! She is so sweet! She is definitely a harder grader for 202 than she is for lower levels, but she is still great. You definitely can't make skipping class a habit or you won't pass, but as long as you show up and participate, you'll be fine! She really is a gem! I recommend her!

Comment:

Sra. Sotelo is a real gem! She is so funny and clearly loves what she does. Class is not hard, either. She can be a bit disorganized and sometimes forgets to assign your homework until late which can be frustrating, but overall she is a really good Spanish teacher! If you can make yourself get up early to take her classes, I would recommend her!

Excessive amount of homework, rarely uploads grades to canvas, doesnt follow the syllabus, hardly teaches in class so be ready to spend time teaching yourself. Shes a nice lady but is one of those professors who thinks her class is the most important & we dont have other work to do. If you understand the material though, you will be fine :)

Sra. Sotelo is super nice. Her tests are not hard and she tells you exactly what to study for the midterm and final. However, her class is a little bit all over the place and we don't usually have time to do everything she plans on. However, she is a good professor, and I recommend taking her!

Best spanish teacher at Xavier! Explains the material in a great way and is very willing to help. With that being said, she is a difficult grader but it also very fair. Long tests and quizzes and a lot of homework but in the end it helps balance your grades out. Definitely take her if you can!

Very helpful professor. If you are struggling in the class, she is willing to help you out. She does not play favorites. Expect homework every night but she does it so you learn the material. She encourages you to go to office hours. She goes over the midterm and final with a study guide.

i dont really like spanish at all, but Senora Sotelo was pretty awesome. If i needed help, she let me know when she was available. She doesnt go easy on you, but she will make sure you understand, so that you can get a good grade.

Very nice and easy. She goes over all the grammar we must learn in depth and makes sure everyone understands it. She gives online homework and book work that covers all different types of learning. She is so nice, DO NOT be uncomfortable participating. She goes over the tests, midterm, final in depth so there are no surprises. Study grammarvoc.

I hated Spanish until I took Sra. Sotelo. She made everything so much easier to understand. She understands that many students are not Spanish majors and takes this into account when teaching. Now I'm thinking of minoring.

Sra. Sotelo was a great professor. I enjoyed her class and she was very helpful in my Spanish speaking abilities. She cares about her students and tries to get to know you more throughout the class. I would take her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anyone. Her tests are not especially difficult but she is a tough, but fair, grader.

Sra. Sotelo is fantastic. She's energetic, friendly, so sweet, and so clearly a mom. She is genuinely concerned for her students and looks out for them. Her class isn't easy, but she makes it fun and interesting. If you can get Sra. Sotelo for Spanish, jump on it! She's the best.

Señora Sotelo is the best! I thought college Spanish was going to be impossible, but she made it really easy and was always willing to help. She's super sweet and loves to talk, and she does a lot of her teaching in English so it's easy to follow what she's saying. I DEFINITELY recommend her!

Sra. Sotelo is a very fair woman. She will give you a grade based on the effort you put into her class--regardless of how good you are. She is interesting and friendly and genuinely caring. I highly recommend her as a teacher; going to class is not a chore and she tries to give lots of opportunities to her students for success and is very helpful!!

Great teacher. I dislike Spanish but she made it easier and more fun than any other Spanish class. Highly suggest taking her class for a semester. Just talk and be friendly in her class and she'll love you. Would take again!

Good profesor! Is always Willing to help and is a fair grader. The class isn't hard if you do the work. An A or B is definitely achievable. Overall a fun class.
