When I first entered the class I was nervous about how hard the grading would be and it didn't come as a surprise that she was a tough grader. I recieved the same grade on every single one of my papers, eventhough I thought I improved as the semester went on. Great person and always will answer your questions if you have them.

I would never take a class with her again. Her lectures are incredibly boring and somewhat meaningless. Her test, much like her homework assignments are painfully obscure and she wants what she deems to be the "best answer" and not always the correct answer. We rarely went in depth in the text in comparison to other classes I've had. She's a prude.

Claywell is an excellent instructor. I've taken two classes with her so far; she's both knowledgeable and welcoming of different interpretations. I will say maybe she grades a bit too easy, though I do appreciate she is a bit more flexible with rounding up final grades as long as you've done the work.

Dr. Claywell made an Honors course well worthwhile. She takes the time out of her day to get to know her students and makes sure he/she receives all of the help they need. Tends to get off topic a lot and doesn't teach much material. Focuses rather on correcting your writing skills and assigns lots of reading in her books. Would take again!

Dr. Claywell is a nice professor and the course content was interesting. Her major flaw is her tests. She gives test questions that are painfully obscure, and essentially lies about test content. On the last exam everyone in the class failed and she said "I hope everyone does better on your papers, or you won't pass". She didn't give a curve.

She's a nice lady and is very personable. Textbook use is high (we read the whole thing). Some of the assignments/papers may seem pointless to some people, but they are generally about your major, which will be helpful in the future. Not a lot of literature discussed, which was disappointing to me, but probably wouldn't be to most. Overall, good.

Comment:
It's great she used the book so much, but she had students teach about every author we covered. I had no faith in some of their info. Also, some days, she read us "interesting" facts that were usually just disgusting. Worst: her tests consist of tiny moments/words picked out & we match their author. Everyone failed. She gave a 20 point curve. Crazy

Gave extra homework for thanksgiving break and had a comprehendive final. Nice normally but no regard for overloading students with work.

She is very caring about the students and passionate. However her class is BORING and you do several dumb assignments that have nothing to do with anything! Your papers you have to write are over your career field and are very uninteresting and unmotivating to write. They're a waste of time. I got an A in the class but I didn't learn anything!

She is really sweet and fairly easy on grading. Of course a lot of reading but no quizzes. More history than I liked and kind of boring material. Overall not a bad class though.

This class is easy. She has you write four papers and she dosn't grade hard. You'll also have to do one group presentation and one solo presentation. She loves peer reviewing so be prepared. Good entry level class. If you cant turn your paper in on time she will work with you.

Very very nice however her tests are all fill in the blank and she does not word them easily. This would be her downfall. Also when she answers questions she most of the time just confuses me more.

Dr. Claywell is a GREAT professor. ALWAYS willing to help and to email her with questions. Doesn't ramble on in class, because she says she knows how boring alot of lectures can be... so she keeps it to a minable. I would highly recommend her for ENG, I tried to get her for 102 but wasnt able : ( GREATGREATGREATGREATGREATGREATGREAT GREAT GREAT GREA
