This class was so cool, it was my first time doing welding and woodwork. I enjoyed working three-dimensionally so much that I changed my concentration afterwards.

Said we would have artists coming and giving feedback on projects, but none of that materialised. On the good hand, it's a really chill class. Maybe too chill. We received minimal feedback, no crits, and had no clue where we stood grade-wise. Beware surprise costs, most of which are fairly low, as he asks you to buy materials for projects

Even though I had heard about Gregs hard boiled egg habit and it kind of grossed me out, I took this class anyway because I love sculpture. Greg shows up to each class with an empty cool whip container filled with hairs boiled eggs. They are usually gone within the first 40 minutes of class. The projects were exciting and creatively demanding.

Greg is pretty calm. You can always tell when he's getting out of patience with students because that's when he eats the most hard boiled eggs during classes. He brought a plate of deviled eggs for one of our critique days. They were delicious. He really has an interesting way of asking questions that expand the exploration process.

He is constantly eating hardboiled eggs during class. If this doesn't bother you, then I highly recommend taking a sculpture class with him. He is very open to experimentation within the artwork that you create during class, and every Thursday, he would bring a box of Strite's donuts for us to eat during critique. Just don't make bad art.

Though his projects are very open ended he is extremely unclear and is always criticizing anything relatively normal. He wants u to step outside of the box, and then off a cliff. His brain is everywhere is there's no use sorting. oh, and did i mention we spent 8 weeks on 1 project that was not sculpture based. sweet.

Project are very open to individual interp., which people complain about; if you can't create your own artistic ideas, then you shouldn't take this class or even be studying art. The type and amount of conceptual meaning in your sculpture is up to you. Rad. Truly TRY, and put the time into this class, and you should be alright.

Greg is so much fun. The projects are different but enjoyable. He actually supplies a lot of the tools/equipment himself so projects are fairly inexpensive. He focuses on the process more than the final product so there's not a lot of pressure on everything turning out perfect.

Not clear on what he wants, changes his mind. Weird projects that don't really take you anywhere. Wish there was someone else to take too just for variety, but he's it for sculpture.

The class was just alright. If art is your life you'll get along just fine with Greg Stewart. But, if you are a smart-ass looking for an easy A, he'll surely sniff you out and condemn you.

Greg is a great guy. Extremely helpful and supportive--much of what you do is what you want to do. The tools and equipment are great to work with. Very laid back class.

Ugh, this class is a pain in the ass. I really would be fun if he wasent so hell bent on attendance. I mean, dam, it IS an art class. WTF, how is attendence more important than doing all the projects? A dumbass could pass this class, but anyone with a life could fail it.

Pros: Not a very time-consuming class. Cons: Hardass grader, no sympathy to students on attendance, VERY expensive, you make a lot of crap fit only for the dumpster, not your portfolio. My recommendation? Take a different class.

Cool guy, helpful, wants to hear your opinions. Ambiguous grading and projects but seems like he is not strict on grading if you attend classes and show at least some effort. Not a tough class. Would take again.

Nice guy, but seems he could snap. Respect what he gives (you don't have to buy much AT ALL). Vague projects (3 of them) but you can explore. Come to class, respect what he says, and you'll be fine. Boring/monotenous at times, but it's a studio.
