Dr. Gutierrez is a hard grader but fair. I enjoyed his lectures and I was able to follow their complexity. Do not be afraid to raise your hand and ask for clarification, Dr. Gutierrez is all about discussions, opinions, and students sharing.

As an online professor, he's okay. He's enthusiastic about the subject and nice, but his organization isn't great, due dates change or are stated incorrectly and changed at the last minute, and he rarely responds to emails, or questions asked in the class forum, even when it's about something important, so its difficult to figure some things out.

Dr. Gutierrez is the best teacher in the SBS department that I have had. He actually teaches you and helps improve your education. He may not be EASY, but it is because he wants you to walk away from his classes with knowledge. If you have any issues ask him and he will clarify, email him or go to his office hours he is always available to help.

Juan is awesome! I mean his classes are not the most interesting thing in the world but nonetheless you leave his class having gained new knowledge. Plus he is always willing to help you give you grow academically. So based on this I think he is a great teacher. School is about learning and progressing not being entertained.

There was a lot of course work but thanks to his ability to reach out to studnets helped a lot! He was the first professor to ask how as students we were feeling about deadlines and readings. He is passionate about teaching and is a comedian every once in a while constantly keeping lectures interesting.

This class had a huge amount of reading and was really hard. Luckily he was funny and always there to help you out and answer questions after class and during his office hours. As long as he sees your effort he goes easy on your grades. He wants you to grow in his class, so if you learn you are set.

The class was horribly boring, thanks to his constant rants about his personal life and accomplishments. He would cancel class with little notice, then return expecting us to check his website for any random updates/assignments he would post. I stopped attending and filed for withdrawl, and he flaked on our meeting and failed me

Juan is a very helpful teacher. I had him for FYS 100 and I enjoyed his class very much. He insists that you read for his class, so that the discussions during class are insightful. But many people got along without reading. He is very interested in hearing what students have to say. It's an enjoyable class.

Dr. Gutierrez is a decent professor. He is somewhat fair although easy. I recommend this class to all females and 'theory savy' males. Praxis is a waste of time however, it looks great on a resume.

Juan is a sweetie. He's very funny and smart and you can really learn a lot from him. Sometimes you can be unclear as to when things are due and what he wants, but he'll sit there and tell you as many times as you need to figure it out. Love him!!

We had the most rediculous book to read for this class. It was way above our comprehension level, probably a book for a master's or Phd class. Juan is extremely hard to get ahold of by e-mail, and quite difficult to understand...but he is a nice guy.
