There's a quiz before almost every lab that is usually based on the vocab on the pre-labs. Hendrix is very nice but he rambles a lot about things not needed for prelab, but when he does talk about the pre-lab, he's very thorough. He is also very clear about what is need to pass the practicum.

I really enjoyed Hendrix for microbio Lab. I had a hard time at first adjusting to the quiz each week, but once I took the time to study for them i did well. I ended up pulling out an A which I was surprised about. The final wont be as hard as you think. Take him! Hes actually pretty funny.

It definitely is a very tough class, but Dr. Hendrix is very empathetic towards students who demonstrate effort. His lectures are a bit challenging to follow through considering that he reads the board and barely faces the class. Overall, I can attest that I definitely learned and understood a lot of material by the end of the semester.

Hendrix is tough! His test are straightforward and so are his pop quizzes but if you're not the type of student to review notes and MEMORIZE everything- I suggest you try another professor because you will fail and he will not help you. You need to out in work to pass this class but it is possible!

Spends time in class telling you that you'll most likely fail. Gets off topic a lot. Don't take him if you struggle with science courses. Kind of old school, reads straight from the power point, packs up his stuff and leaves. Doesn't really care if you're failing, he kind of expects the majority of the class to.

Avoid taking his class if you can. This was the first C I've ever received. He gives pop TESTS, which can break your grade because you never know when one is coming. He goes on a lot of tangents, so most of the class period is him talking about irrelevant stuff. Both the pop tests and regular exams are difficult because of the wording he uses.

Not the worst teacher I've ever had but he is not the best. He takes the entire time to go over everything then starts yelling at the class for absolutely nothing. I don't recommend taking him for microbio lab. He isn't understanding and taking Grier would be 10 times better. Live and ya learn.

Dr. Hendrix has a lot of knowledge about microbiology, but he is very arrogant and rants about things that don't even relate to the topic. I had him for lab and he lectured us for an hour and fifteen minutes about how to use a microscope (mind you we have all been using microscopes for our last four labs).

You have a pre and post lab quiz every lab. As long as you read the lab outline and study it you should be fine. The only downside to this professor is that he talks ALOT. Going through the syllabus on the first day took about an hour and a half (also, no chairs so you're standing the whole time). Otherwise, its an easy A.

He is sometimes hilarious. A lot of times wonky. And, even more often than not loud and obnoxious. BUT, he's a great professor all in all. I don't regret taking him. He's tough, but it's possible to get the grade you want.

Agree with last review. All he talks about is how he used to be department chair, how much he knows, how smart he is, how much better he is than every other KSU professor, etc and that isn't the info that will be on the test. I will never take him again.

A.V.O.I.D. I hear he is great for genetics, but he was AWFUL for the rest. I would rather drop out than take another class with him. Condescending and rude! You arent allowed to ask questions during class or why you get points off on a test or pop test! HORRIBLE!!! I had a 3.9 until I took this prude.

2 exams, 4 Pop Tests and the Final are the only grades. Coming to class is the best way to get an A and he makes class interesting. Honestly the funniest professor I've ever had. His class is tough but it is worth it. Office hours are helpful and he sometimes tells you when the Pop Tests will be!! Just study really hard and prepare for class

Hendrix is great and tells you exactly what it takes to get an A. He even helps you understand what terms will be on the test and what to study specifically. This is amazing help considering each powerpoint slide for any science class is incredibly long. Their are only 3 tests but if you do good on the final he will replace your lowest the final

I dont dislike this professor, but he definitely needs some work. He often wastes time telling meaningless stories and getting angry out of sheer nowhere. Powerpoints are very long but hell sometimes give you a list of terms that will be on the exam. Comes in late all the time and wastes time. However, exams were pretty easy and based off notes.

Attend Lecture to get an A. This is one of those classes that can boost your moral and he has a lot of knowledge to pass on if you listen. You will get bored and if you do fall asleep hope you record his lecture so you won't miss any important detail. Everything you need for this class is posted on d2l. easy A if you pay attention in class.

There are in class quizzes every lab, so attendance is mandatory. He talks A LOT at the beginning of lab, but makes sure to make the lab as easy as possible for you. Make sure you study the bolded words & numbers in the lab book. He was a good lab teacher. Take him

I took his genetics lab course. He talks ALOT! But he made the assessments really easy. We also got to leave early a few times, and sometimes he made lab optional for the day. Easy A! I had Chen the first time and she was much harder than he was.
