Course: Freshwater Ecology. Dr. Dirnberger is nice and wants all of his students to succeed and go to Belize. ATTENDance-not mandatory BUT only outline is posted. notes come from lecture, and you might miss participation or group activity points. Lab reports are the most time consuming and challenging part of this course. Exams straight forward.

Took Dr. D for ecology lab, he gets super into the material, it's clear he is very passionate about ecology. He understands though that its not everyone's thing and does well to get you through the lab. Very accessible, willing to answer questions. His grading is a little weird sometimes, just ask abt things you don't understand and you'll be fine

I took Dr. Dirnberger for marine bio in belize and he was great!! gave good lectures and made information very easy to understand. also a lot of fun to travel with. grades fairly. I definitely recommend!

Dr. D loves ecology, its obvious. He tried to make labs fun and interesting and he is very helpful (gives you the hypothesis/hints for writing lab reports). His directions are clear and gives good feedback on papers. Would definitely take again. Very nice guy.

Dr. Dirnberger is a great professor. He expects a lot from his students. He is lots of fun in class and on field trips. The lab reports are intense, but he will give you help if you ask. There is not a book, so if you miss lecture you are lost. The field work is very cool and you do learn a lot in this class.

Dr. D is incredibly awesome and hilarious. Invertebrates will become interesting to you. Go to class, don't wait until the last minute to study, don't buy the book, and have FUN in lab. Oh, and watching videos is awesome.

I had him this semester and I really didn't like his teaching techniques. The tests are all from his notes but his notes are only questions and barely any info. I am really good at Biology but the way he thaught the subject made me feel kind of bored about the material. He is very nice and helpful though!

He barely marks off on labs. It's easy to do well in the lab portion. His lectures are put up on his website. He answers questions within the notes and puts them on his exams. Just study his notes and you'll be fine. He has a VERY dry sense of humor. I still remember the day he said we're going to learn about fungi because he's a fun guy.

The best biology teacher I have had by far. He goes over whats going to be on the tests, and makes sure everyone understands. He makes what would be boring labs fun. I would recommend him to anyone that is going to take this subject.
