Horrible, he does not care about his students & basically expects you to fail. He does not care & has such a negative demeanor. Every question you ask he answered with a question. Usually useless to go to him for extra help because he does not care!!!!

It's a hard class and he's a tough grader. But he's very knowledgable about finance. He knows that the topics are hard, so his projects and assignments do help to increase students' understanding. Exams are mad hard so make sure you study and do the questions that he posted. Come to him for extra help.

Be prepared to work your butt off! Tons of excel projects BUT he is very knowledgeable about portfolio management etc and is a really nice guy. He is kind and wants to engage and teach students about finance. Tests are hard. Projects are hard. But hands down the most interesting and stimulating class I have taken at St John's.

Avoid if you can. Moves WAY too fast and not clear. He'll put something on a test that you went over in class for maybe 1 minute. Allows cheat sheets for exams but they hardly help. Says he sets up the exam to make sure you "understand" the content, but really he's just trying to make it as hard as possible and trick you. He's nice but can be rude

Very informative class; however, very difficult when it comes to his exams. His exams are based off of his notes moreover the lengthy homework he assigns. He teaches at a really fast pace so he'd be on the next topic when you're still trying to write down notes for the last one. Tests are really difficult so be prepared to work your butt off!

SMIF involves a lot of work but it's manageable. Prof. Neumann explains everything very well, and puts a lot of his own time/effort into the class. He is a great professor. This class is the most useful thing I've gotten out of St. John's.

SMIF. Hard class, lots of work, but is truly a great experience. Real time, real world work, stuff you can actually learn from. I highly recommend you sign up for his class, you will not regret it. If you are lazy, don't bother, you'll be inundated and fed up early on in the semester.

Take Him!!!! He uses examples from every day business to apply all of his concepts! His tests are somewhat difficult and he lets you bring a mini-cheat sheet! There is one group project which is easy!

Hes a good professor, if you pay attention in class and do the problem sets you should have no problem on his tests. He puts old tests up which are very similar to the tests he gives now. No extra credit on anything, but extremely helpful and willing to meet after hours for extra help.

Excellent, Intelligent, Challenging. You go to college to learn and be challenged, not get easy A's. He will guide you to help yourself rather than spoon feed you knowledge. He teaches at a high caliber and expects his students to work. If you don't work or slack off, go ruin the school's reputation somewhere else.

Preference with his students. There are students he is willing to help, but there are other students he does not help.I would always go to tutoring for a class, but many times he was not there.In class this professor would ignore the students he did not prefer.He's shows off saying he worked in a company,but as a prof. Professor Neumann is amazing! He makes FIN so interesting. It is not a walk in the park but let me tell you it is definately worth the trip. I am not big in FIN but I learned so much from him. I highly recommend you take his class. You will be glad you did.

This is a great professor if you actually want to learn something. He is well versed in the art of teaching. But I must confess that he grades rather harshly. I would do my research to find out if there are better and easier Fin. professors before taking him.
