He engages the students and makes the subject very interesting! I had only taken Intro to Ethics and wasn't sure what to expect of the Philosophy program at UHD, but he inspired me to pursue Phil. as my major and to apply to law school. Light course load and makes the material understandable. I took this class as a hybrid on Saturday.

Schaff is an excellent professor. You can tell he is definitely knowledgeable about his field. I took him for a Saturday morning class (which I thought would be brutal) but he actually made it enjoyable. He gives contemporary examples for the philosophy theories we study and really wants us to give our opinion and input. Overall I cant complain!

Hands down one of the best professors at UHD! I do wish there were more prof. that actually cared about their students. Phil. can be diffcult at times, but Professor Schaff really explains things so cleary. We had 4test and essay. Also, a presentation which isnt diffcult. Just make sure you do the work and you'll be fine!

Great teacher! His words: I'm not hear to fail you, but I want to know that you're learning and doing the readings - I'll work with you. Very refreshing after some of the profs I've had that seem to want you to fail. Read assignments BEFORE class and pay attention. He's passionate about the lessons and that comes through.

Just info for anyone taking his upper level classes, he requires a lot of reading and a huge paper--15 to 20 pages! Don't take for an easy Saturday class...you will be there for the entire class time, and it can get very boring.

He is a wonderful prof. He cares about his students. He makes you want to learn because he makes it so interesting. Teaching is his passion and he has a lot of energy. I got an A. Pay attention, read his assignments BEFORE class, and study the notes he e-mails. Big chance you will make an A if you do the above.
