She cares about the material she's teaching for sure, but if you don't write what the TA or she thinks is a perfect essay, you won't get a good grade. This isn't good because her only grades in the class are 2 exams and 3 essays. She isn't a horrible professor, but the TA does all of her work so you most likely won't get to talk to her herself.

Jellison is passionate about the subject, which makes class tolerable. Lectures drag on and she's super redundant, but as long as you read the readings in the textbook, paying attention is pretty hard. Only tests we had were essay exams and two take-home essays, quizzes can be annoying too.

Very engaging and very approachable. Although I completely disagree with her politics, she is a very nice lady who truly loves her job. Her discussions are interesting and very easy to understand. I feel like she teaches the way teachers should. Very old-school feel. Very nostalgic and welcoming.

Jellison is the best professor I've ever had. She is engaging and interesting she knows the material and she fosters wonderful discussion in her classes. If you go to class regularly and study a normal amount that you would with any other class you will get a good grade. The class is so interesting you will want to go to class.

Jellison is by far one of the most engaging teachers I've ever met. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will look forward to going so much that you will come anyway. 2 tests and 3 papers round out the semester, but listen in class and you'll do fine. I hardly studied and still got an A because I genuinely love listening to her lectures.

Jellison is amazing! She is so interesting and helpful. She does grade papers at a high standard but if you go talk to her, she will help. Her tests definitely take the full test period and there is a lot of writing involved but as long as you pay attention in class, do the readings, and use her study guide you will be fine! I have learned so much!

If you want to take an interesting history class, take it with her because she is really knowledgable and engaging. Her tests are really difficult though, and there is a lot of reading involved. It's a good class, but not an easy one.

I LOVE Katherine Jellison. She is so engaging and so sweet. The class was incredibly interesting and she did an excellent job of dividing up screenings with lectures to create an interesting class. Jellison by herself is worth taking this class, however. Best laugh of any professor at OU.

She knows A LOT about the topic and is really interested in it as well. She gives a study guide before each test (3 essay tests with 3 questions and you answer 2). The study guides are very helpful and if you know what is on them, the test will be very easy. Doesn't take attendance.

Very good professor. She knows what she is talking about. The exams are HARD! and requires reading and class attendance to answer essay questions for exams. If you do not go to class you will miss examples she uses that you can't find in your book and your grade will suffer. If you are the type of person that doesn't attend class, don't take her

Class is interesting, but paper and tests are ridiculous. Tests are 2 essay questions...try to do them in 50 minutes, if not perfect then you will fail. The papers are 3-5 pages. I had a complete 5 pages and still needed to write more, but obviously couldn't. Well I got a B- on it because i needed to add more facts. Sorry no room! goodluck!

Jellison's great. I took 320B randomly & ended up enjoying it. Put effort in and you'll get a good grade. Your grade consists of two 3-5 page papers & 2 exams, plus some easy hw to help your grade. I most appreciated that there was no busy work & attendance isn't mandatory at all...if you can get an A without going to class, more power to you.

Very interesting material and very helpful at office hours. A LOT of reading. Blue book exams are a little rough and graded kind of rough. One exams make sure to be clear on the main ideas of the lectures and know specific examples of each and you'll do fine. Oh and final is non-cummulative, always a plus.

Very fun class. I took both sections, and she has switched away from paper-writing to blue book exams. There are 3 exams that make up your grade, and they are graded pretty hard. However, the class is definitely worth it and it is fair grading.
