I didn't take calculus in high school. I took his class at BC in the summer b/c I attempted to take it during spring quarter at UW and got a 30% on my first midterm...needless to say I dropped the class. When I took it from Larry, I got a 3.8 in the class. Go to class, do the practice problems he gives, and the tests will be a walk in the park.

He is an interesting teacher. I felt a little apprehensive taking a class from him because of the other reviews but he is a very good teacher. The tests were pretty much straightforward but the problem might come from the in class assignments. As long as you go to class and study, they shouldn't be a problem plus most of them were group work.

HE IS THE WORST TEACHER IN BC. EVERY ONE MARK IN HIS DAILY IN-CLASS ASSIGNMENT EQUALS TO ONE MARK IN THE EXAM. SO. MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET FULL MARK FOR EVERY ASSIGNMENT THAT HE GIVES.

He is currently our sub. He is an awful teacher. The first couple of days he belittled our class. If you ask a question he responds with "Well,if you don't know this then you need to take a lower level math." No one will ask for help now. He doesnt create a good learning environment. There are hints of niceness but overall glad he isnt my teacher

Great teacher. His class is really easy for international students! You don't have to hand in homework and the tests are extreamly easy. I don't know why American feel his class hard.You really need to work on your own if you want to study math better. I like this teaching style!That improves your thinking logic.

It is not a good teacher. hard to get a B+ or A in his class even you are well-prepared for this course. the worse thing is that he made lots of mistakes on his answer sheets,even in the class.

While he seems like a nice guy, I couldn't understand a thing he said. He had a sub most of the time since he had to have knee surgery, but even so his lectures were super boring and i never understand where he was starting from like he never gave any background to anything. For any math class, I suggest taking Tony Aklaigh.

Mr. Curnutt is a nice man outside of class, but in his class is another story. His lectures are long and boring. He gives grief to students whose names aren't typical like "susan" or "joe", and the practice work is riddled with typos. Sometimes he can be mean about questions you have on the homework too. I don't recommend him.

If there is one word that describes Mr. Curnutt, it would be "human." He uses a problem-solving method to teaching, brings you into the world of mathematics with mathematician biographies, and makes you feel that he is just one of us.

I studied the textbook for 4+ hours a day and it was useless! His quizzes and tests have nothing to do with the textbook problems. The problems are about the chapter tests, but none of them even resemble the book's problems! I am re-taking this class and I have a 97% with Prof. Polinger. Polinger is a great teacher!

Mr. Curnutt seems to be a nice older man, but that is about all one can say kindly of him. He skips material and tests on it, his lectures are long and boring, his practice problems are riddled with typos and inconsistencies, and he doesn't like to be asked more than an average of 4 questions total a day. Also, he can be rude about people's names.

I am impressed with Larry. He is a good teacher who makes things easy to understand. Homework is not mandatory, nor is it collected. Therefore, I did not do much homework, yet I still feel that I learned a lot in this class. How? From Larry!

Not the best math teacher in the world. Teaching style is very rude. Wants students to ask stupid questions so that he can demean them. Assignments are not the best, some of them have questions about problems that he never taught. In all, i would never take a math class with him ever again.

I was very excited to take this class but was immediately turned off by the manner in which he taught. Graded work was randomly assigned, quizzes were a random set of questions and he refused to be helpful in finding what to study. Drowning in minutia and detail, he does not give partial credit and verbally bullies students who try to answer him.
