The lectures were structured very well. There are 4 tests that are 5-6 MC and 4 FRQs. Also there is weekly homework that would not be too bad except the format takes hours to complete. If you have taken physics in high school this class will be review (the last topic covered is harmonic motion).

She obviously knows what she's talking about but often messes up in class examples. Just reading through the slides and the text won't help you, important to attend class. If you don't do your online homework, you will not pass. Highly recommend going to her office hours for specific questions. Her tests and quizzes are very easy.

Had entertaining and interesting demos in lectures. She will take time to explain difficult concepts to you, and is very accessible. She was very hands on which I really liked.

Dr. Sherman was an amazing teacher. Her lectures were to the point with lots of examples and demonstrations. Always willing to help. Allowed test corrections for extra credit. Attendance is graded. Plan to spend a lot of time on home work (4hoursassignment) Tests are straight from the hw or lecture examples. I loved her and would take her again.

Sweet and funny, but has some unrealistic expectations. A massive pile of homework is due each Thursday, but she doesn't cover all the relevant material until Wednesday; it's simply too much work for four days, so she should change the due date to Monday. Tests are rough and attendance matters. Gives free candy for visiting during office hours.

Do not take for 1150, she knows her stuff but cant convey the basics. Rambles too much and made basic kinematics and projectile motion hard. AVOID for physics I and II.

She's a terrible teacher. She will help you, but not much. She frequently messes up her examples in lecture. Before each exam she hosts a review session - where she reviews nothing that will be on the exam. All of her exams are 3 problems, with some conceptual questions. She expects everyone to get a 70. She's no good. Avoid if you value GPA.

A class where you MUST do the homework. Between the online and turn-in assignments, it can be a bit overwhelming but that is the key to making a good grade. Tests are very hard. It'll serve you better to understand rather than to memorize, as in other math/science courses. She will help you out if you tell her you need an extra day on the HW.

I had Dr. Sherman for lab. She is an excellent professor to take coming from high school. She makes sure you do everything right and the way she wants it done. She keeps watch over the whole class. Overall her lab isn't hard and it helps you get the feel of lab without having to dive head first in and find everything yourself.

DO NOT TAKE HER. She is the nicest woman I have ever met in my life a very willing to help. That is the only nice thing I can say about her class. I am actually upset I can't retake the class, I am an engineering major but I came out of that class knowing no more physics than when I went in. If you need to know the material, take someone else.

Her lectures are full of energy and overall easy to follow. She moves at an extremely fast pace though and her tests are ridiculously hard. Study study study and you will do fine. All questions on the test are reworded questions from the online homework.

Dr. Sherman is very nice in her office hours, but her class is SO boring! Her tests are A,B,C,D,E..if you get A wrong you'll get the rest wrong. Physics is just hard in general but Dr. Sherman isn't the best teacher. I wouldn't recommend her.

Very nice. It took me a while to get used to her expressions and gesticulations, because she's a bit quirky, but she is helpful, respects her students, and loves Physics.

Super nice and understanding. Better with small classes than big. Fun class, but hard. If you go to class and do your homework you can get an easy B. Homework is really important, and she will reward you for it. Final grade is curved. Highly recommended.

Nice. Cares about students a lot and always more than willing to help out with anything. A BORING class, but that's mostly the class. Mostly math stuff. If you do the homework and go and pay attention in class, an A-B is easily obtained.

The course is difficult, not Dr. Sherman! She answers homework questions, extends WebAssign given good reasons, and tests questions are simpler than homework ones. Dr. Sherman systematically steps through many exercises in lecture; cheat sheets and graphing calc's are forbidden by the department.
