She doesnt play around, she might be boring but if you do the Hw, you will be fine for her test, she has 5 test in each of class. I had this teacher for college algebra and i got a B only because she gives EASY test and because i went to the math lab to get help understanding. She does not uses the book. she uses mymathlab. you MUST MUST do homework! its part of the test. and it helps you understand better! her final was a piece of cake! gives extra credit on every tests!

Mrs. Rhea is a really cool teacher. She is so helpful and laid back. If you want a good grade show up and take good notes. She tells you exactly what you are going to be tested on. If you want a good grade and great teacher take her class!

She is one of the best professors the school has to offer.Very helpful, if you pay attention,follow the rules of math & do your work you'll do good.I am not a math major & was never good at it. she gives a quick run down of math rules b/4 covering a chptr & explains each step clearly.doesn't jump around teaching various methods to confuse you.

I took her for 0305. Going to take her for college algebra now, (main reason she was the only one open BUT) She was very helpful FROM WHAT i REMEMBER. She's very monotone but she helps out a lot and lets you have a note card to put all the note on it you want its a small card but you get to use it during test and stuff.

I disagree with the review below. I found the class extremely interesting and she was always willing to answer questions. I usually sleep and hate my math classes but I found this one interesting. Her sense of humor kept me awake. Reading the book is not a bad thing. If you want to learn take this teacher. If you just want an easy grade, dont.

If you are good at math, you will have no problem with taking her for 1314. But if math is not so much your thing and you are used to learning by the book, you will probably find her too difficult to understand, because she teaches her own way. Funny and very laid back but makes it clear you are responsible for your own success (which is true).

Took finite with her this semester. Worst mistake ever! This professor does not give you reviews to help you prepare for her tests. I learned finite from the guys in math lab. If you can take another professor for this class please do. She don't give you enough time to study for an upcoming tests. Only does 1 to 2 problems in class and expect you to read the book if you have questions. I regret taking her this semester and will not be taking her anymore.

I have taken 3 math classes from Ms. Rhea. I like her teaching style. She is the most available teacher I've ever had. If you need her help she is more than willing to explain. Math is not an easy subject to me but if you do the homework and pay attention in class you'll pass easily.

Comment:

Lisa Rhea is a cool laid back instructor who is not going to babysit her students. However, if she sees you are making a genuine effort to pass her class she might be willing to give away a few pts here & there. I think she's a good instructor who really does care if her students pass BUT YOU HAVE TO CARE about passing too.

She spoke a lot about her personal life and then rushed the lesson. She did give a take home exam, which she did not offer help on. Note cards were allowed to be used during an exam. If you miss her class more than once, expect a phone call early in the morning from her.I would not recommend her if you have a hard time understanding math.

I'm having a difficult time in her class. She doesn't explain things very well and tries to tell jokes (which are not funny). She gives take home tests, which she provides help, and lets you use note cards on actual test, but you definitely have to study and ask questions. I would not recommend her if your not good in math.

She isnt too bad. Her reviews are SUPER long. Tests are pretty close to the reviews so if you get the info you will do fine. I would suggest reading the book for yourself, it helped me. One thing I DO NOT like is how long she takes to get our test back...up to two weeks. It would be great if she just posted the scores on blackboard for us to see.

I started out in the lowest remedial math0304. made a B+ in finite. finite was a hard subject but she gives good notes. every other math class ive ever taken has put me to sleep within 5 minutes of class time. she makes the class interesting and relates material to real life. she is really laid back and down to earth. great teacher overall.

Very smart teacher! If you dont have common sense dont take her.In the begining I had alot of trouble and she helped me out. It is college so dont waste your money and just attend the class. Listen with your ears and you will learn.If you dont pass, its only because your LAZY and INCOMPETENT!
