Horrible Teacher and the listening labs take up a ton of time and you have to go to the lab to listen to them and there's hours of music and than you have to take a test over these songs that you have no idea what your listening 2 NO ONE TAKE THIS CLASS unless your a music major

Comment:

It is difficult in the class to understand and follow. The notes are verbal, and it is hard to follow where she is going. There is a listening exam at the end of the year that is pretty hard if you are not musically inclined! She plays musical pieces throughout the year that all amount to the listening exam!

One of my new favorite teachers. She is very compassionate about her work. Class is a little hard to be a Gen. Ed. Study and you'll do fine.

Comment:

Not a very good teacher. The only reason you need to go to class is because she takes attendance and if you miss 5+ classes, you lose 10% of the final grade, which sucks because the class is so boring. Do the tutorial online because it really helps on the test. I wouldnt recommend this teacher to anyone.

This class is super amazingly BORING!! No need to take notes...just bring your book and a highlighter (besides she talks to fast to write everything down anyways). Be sure to use the companion website tutorial quizzes for test study guides because half of the test comes from those questions, not from lecture. Listening lab and recitals required.

do NOT take this teacher. I was a music major when i took this class and barely got by with a B. I only got by with a B because of the stupid attendance and listening labs with the 5 recitals. She doesn't tell you anything that will be on the tests and the only thing you have for points are 4 tests! Take someone else!

SOOOO annoying!!!! Will have you rolling your eyes and cringing until you get out of class. Would make a nice neighbor, but makes an AWFUL teacher. Never reviews or tell you what's on the tests--much of which she doesn't teach anyway and she trips you up on small details. try to avoid if possible.

there is an attendance requirement that stinks because the lectures are extremely dull...but you can only miss 5 times the entire semester...add that to the fact that you have to have 700 listening lab minutes (go to the lab on your time and listen to boring music for hours) makes the class ridiculously tedious and boring...material easy though.

I got a B in 241, but I wouldn't recommend taking this class. If there wasn't an attendance requirement, I never would've gone to the lectures; they proved to be of no help to me at all. But passing the class is pretty easy. Take the online quizzes and get the max # of points for the listening lab and recitals, and you'll be in good shape.

I wasn't very excited about this class, but soon found the stuff to be interesting. The stuff you want to know. She rarely cancels or lets out early. It's easy to get a B on a test if you study online quizes, but almost impossible to make a perfect score. Overall easy class because many points come from just attending listening lab and concerts

Do not take this class unless you have too.The class is very boring and you have to sit and listen to 700 mins of music in a listening lab.If you do take it, the tests are somewhat difficult but study the online quizzes and know all of the names and composers you listened to in class as well as the background on the composers.

this class is the worst gen ed I have ever taken. No really its horrible. If you do take it study online quizes it will save your grade. Class is entertaining with Mrs. Crowder. She makes funny little jokes in class, and also listens to lots of music in class for examples of lesson material. She does have pretty hard, detailed tests, but they are from the study website that she gives to all students. You have to attend to sign the attendance sheet every class.
