Lynne is very passionate about her subject, but she took too long on the easy chapters and rushed the last two chapters before classes ended that semester which are the more complex things which are needed for 101 , doesnt post your grades, and her rushing the last two chapters made the final hard + she moved the final closer leaving less study

Lynne is a tough prof. She knows her stuff, but she'll make you work hard to get a decent mark. She assigns an increasing amount of homework based on what level you're taking.

Comment:

Very sweet lady, tough but fair! I read some of these comments before taking the class and was a little nervous for it, but in the end it went well! It seems like you need to be ready to put in the time to learn a language, otherwise you won't enjoy this class or any other language classes. Lot's of memorization!

Comment:

This is a heavy course which is to be expected when learning a language. Lynne is good - she really knows her stuff. She goes through everything thoroughly in class, so attendance is a must. There's typically about 20 minutes of homework for every hour of class time. She's really clear about what's on tests.

Comment:

Taking language classes are tough but Lynne made it a fun and smooth experience! You need to put in the effort outside of class and be ready to answer questions in class about the assigned homework. Lynne was very available to students who needed extra help and would make sure everyone was understanding the material during lectures. Great prof!

Lynne is a great prof. She really knows what she's talking about and if you attend all her classes and get the assigned homework done, you'll pass easily. She does assign homework after each class, but it's always short and easy to complete before the next class. Would definitely recommend.

This is the second class I've taken from Lynne and she is a great prof if you put in the work for her class! Sometimes she forgets that you have other classes and assigns a lot of homework but it's not difficult. Make sure you apply yourself in her classes and study for exams. For the exams and final she gives you a good outline of what to expect.

Comment:

I had taken 100 and 101 with Lynne previously and decided to try my hand at a 200 with her. It was tough. You definitely need to put time into learning the language outside of class. However, her tests are pretty straightforward and if you study a lot before them you should have no trouble passing. The oral evals are also good mark boosters.

Lynne is one of the best profs I've ever had. She's hilarious and always willing to make sure everyone knows the material. As long as you put in the effort, do the homework, and practice, you should have no problem passing this class. The smaller classes lets you develop close friendships with one another.

Comment:

Lots of homework. Needs to realize that students have other classes outside of her's, and that they have a life and cannot be expected to attend every class. Very unfair in that matter. Moves too fast through material. Can be a bully. If she asks you a question in class and you don't know it she will badger you for it.

Comment:

While Lynne goes through material rather fast, if you do your homework it is not difficult to keep up. Genuinely wants her students to succeed and is very helpful when you are struggling. As always make sure you attend every class, as you will miss a lot even skipping one. If you participate and do your homework you'll do well.

This class was the hardest class that I ever took. I believed on these ratings and I believed that I would pass however everything went the opposite. She is extremely fast and she expects you to know everything. I heard from friends who took her higher level classes and they agreed on what I was thinking.

Lynne is good, helpful prof. In her class I have learnt a lot, but don't take her if it's hard for u to learn another langauge. She is not for beginners or lazy students. Gave a lot of homework and long, hard tests. Be prepared to memorize a lot, but this is how u learn language. Also, Lynne, u are very beautiful and stylish, keep it up!! :-)

I attended at her class and she was extremely fast. I was not able to fallow her and the other thing is she does quiz in middle of the class. Not recommend her at all. I had a really bad experience with her.

Comment:

Lynne is a nice, funny and approachable lady. Her class is a lot of work. Homework due each class, lab every 2nd week & she makes you book with a tutor the weeks in between. Tests are difficult even if you do study; she packs her exams with too much info and 50 min is not enough time. Quite harder than French 100, and more stressful.

The prof demands so much from her students it is unattainable. 35 questions on a test with only 20 minutes to do it? She just assumes her students are all quite fluent in french. The class goes by way too fast, there is not enough time to ask her questions and she flies through every class. Switch to a more understanding and easy prof at all costs.

She is a very hard marker! She looks at language as if it is correct or incorrect for example if you use the wrong synonym you're wrong. If you use français québécois she marks it incorrect.
