I really enjoyed Dr. Guzzio and the course material. There were many books and Moodle readings, so if you don't like to read, you shouldn't take the class. Other than that, she was very helpful and responsive to emails and make the class interesting with discussion forums.

Comment:

If you have the chance to have her for a class, do it. She is one of the best professors I've ever had. I cannot think of anything negative about the class or material. She is smart, caring, and involved. She pays attention to everybody and makes all feel welcome. I'm glad to have had her for this course and others.

Dr. Guzzio is such a sweetheart. She is always willing to help with any assignment and is very passionate about the subject matter. Her feedback on papers are always very helpful and she's very accessible outside of the classroom. Being that it was an honor's English class there was a lot of reading but it wasn't too bad.

This professor is outstanding in so many ways. She knows her subject area, selecting readings that are not too long, yet super informative. The grading and such is appropriate and clear, with her focus being on effort / participation, wanting you to give the material a fair consideration. One of the best in this department, from what I can see.

Tim Burton was a great class would only take it again with her. The class was beautifully taught and she opened up your mind to new things about this artist. She is the best take as many classes you can with her, especially African American Novels; ENG 435. She is a true, true gem. She will be your coach and cheerleader in the world of literature.

I'm so glad I got to have Dr. Guzzio. ENG170 is a gateway course for freshmen and it was actually one of my easier classes. Lots of reading, but they're pretty short books - as long as you stay on track you'll do fine in the class. No tests. She has mandatory office hours to go over rough drafts of papers, which were actually super helpful.

She is an excellent professor. She loves literature so you'll read quite a few short novels during your time with her. You'll have 2 papers, approx 5 pages long then a final paper 8-11 pages long. But the final paper is on ANYTHING. You have campus activities that you go to, it's her way of teaching things outside the classroom. She's GREAT!

I took the Lit Crit course with her, it was a small class that went over dense material. She treated us like adults and was extremely helpful. She is always interested in howwhat her students are doing. She is pulled in all directions bc she has a connection with so many students & the class was kind of a therapy session at times. she is great!

I took ENG170 as a "gateway" course in my first semester. Guzzio invests herself in the success of her students, gives great feedback, and is very helpful when you go to her for any kind of help. She is very clear in what she expects of students. I was very fortunate to have her my first semester.

A standout at Plattsburgh! Have taken two classes with her. Guzzio is straight forward with what she expects. Easy class to BS but interesting enough that I actually wanted to do atleast a majority of the reading.. And participate in class. Love her!!

Comment:

Tracie is an amazing human being. It amazes me the patience she has for her students. She isn't a difficult grader. Her expectations of you are very clear. Best of all, her classes are FUN. I've taken her 3 times, and would again! Her use of film is intriguing. She is willing to work on the students level. Wonderful, caring woman!
