If you are terrible with tests/quizzes, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The only grades you really have in this course are mainly from quizzes/tests. The midterm and final weigh heavy on your final grade, she says there is hw but she never checks it. Plus the textbook is extremely expensive, and you are forced to purchase it b/c you need the book code.

I took him for Asian American experience online and it was so good! He gave really good feedbacks that promote students to think critically. The readings are not heavy if you don't procrastinated in the last minute; readings are interesting. He always gave at least a week to do every assignment. Easy A if you read and participate in discussion.

Comment:

Just listening to her speak French was a pleasure. She did her graduate studies in France, and her accent is excellent, like a native French person. So, just by being there you will pick up that sense of how to speak like a French person.. Homework is easy, and final is challenging, based on the grammar, but if you attend class you'll be good.

one of the best professors I've had. Very thorough and reviews for everything. explains everything well. Only a few writings assignments, online activities need to be done and a quiz after each chapter. Midterm and final aren't that hard. I would recommend taking her! Wish she taught Basic 2!!!

She went fast but overall liked her. The Home work was a lot but not any more than you find in any other French class. I'd take her. If you get confused, she will brake it down. Just do the homework and you will pass.

learning about the french colonizing different countries was interesting, but i wish she made the class more interactive. she is so nice (brings pizza or candy when we watch movies, which is often) and she cares about her students. she is really knowledgeable. make sure you read the books she assigns (yes, you have to read all 3 in full)

Professor Mukherjee is an outstanding French professor. She is very helpful and understanding because she knows a lot of people are taking french as a language requirement and not bc they are interested. she really wants students to at least try to understand the language and try to speak so participation matters. she is also a lenient grader.

Prof. Mukherjee is an amazing professor and person. I've learned a lot from her. She's a very kind, generous, and understanding person & wants to see you succeed. She has a way of making you feel like family. To do well, just do your part & always make an effort & attend classes. If you need help just ask her - she's always willing to help you.

This is my first time having her as a professor and she is so kind, helpful, and understanding. She's interested in her student's lives and above of all, she just wants you to make an effort. Teach is super easy. I really would tell people about her because of the way she teaches. She takes her time with the class; first 2 test in class, and the other 2-3 are take homes. She doesn't really try to force her students to buy the book because it is expensive!

Had a great time in her class. From the reading the reviews before the semester began, I thought I was going to hate it because she randomly picks people to participate and answers questions, but she's really kind and pretty funny. you'll learn a lot from her. just review the chapters.

She is great! The course is easy and she has a great personality. I didn't go to the language lab at all and didn't complete all the assignents and still got an A. She is very lenient and lets you make up assignments. Loves participation from her students and truly wants them to learn. Tests were not bad.

Very nice professor. Always willing to help students that want help and that try. Loves participation even when you're wrong, she's is so pleased that you try because she's a strong believer that that is a great way to learn. Just show her effort and you'll get an A. Doesn't even care about assignments and is lenient about making up stuff.
