Dr. Warren is great! He's very intelligent and gives great feedback. He gives plenty of time in class to work on papers. He really encourages students to excel inside and outside of the classroom. He's a very fair grader and you'll do well as long as you do the homework.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Warren. He's extremely caring and wants to see his student involved--MA programs, conferences, anything. I've never had a professor who encouraged taking so many artistic liberties, and I learned a lot from taking risks in his class. Take his class. Thank me later.

If you are looking for an easy class, this is the one. Dr. Martin is excellent and provides great feedback on essays and coaches you through the writing process. He genuinely wants each of his students to do well. You have atleast a week of in-class work time for each essay. Discussion based.

Other than the occasional powerpoint slideshow for historical contexts, he lets the students drive the discussions. A genuinely jolly man, Dr. Warren helps you to understand and care about the material you read.

Dr. Warren is a fantastic professor, who is very clear and concise, most of the paper writing is done in class which is fantastic as it saves time outside of class. His feed back is spot-on, and I would gladly take him again.

Dr. Warren is an awesome prof. Always cheery and positive, passionate about English literature. Not to mention, he's from England. Gave reasonable feedback + the lectures weren't too dry. Took his Brit Lit class Fall 2015. If you do readings + even just occasionally participate, you'll do fine. Available outside of class too, responds to emails.

Class is mostly lecture and discussion. Readings every day, 3 longer papers (5-7 pages). One essay question-based exam. Lectures are long and dry, and discussion is like pulling teeth sometimes, and it makes class repetitive. Still, he's knowledgeable and is always willing to help.

Marty is awesome! His readings can get long and boring, but class is always engaging and he really wants you to learn about the time periods and contexts of the texts. Overall, just a sweet man. Recommend.

This class was alright. I had been very interested when I joined, but the lectures proved to be high-school level. He is a very nice guy - stickler about attendance/tardiness. If you want an easy A this is a good class, just know you may not gain a lot of knowledge if you took honors or AP classes in high school.

Great Professor! The class teaches you a lot but it is pretty easy. There is a lot of in class discussions and group work. He leaves a lot of interpreting up to students. Only 2 major papers and minor quizzes on readings. The novels are also interesting. You can get buy without buying them. Overall very good class! love his accent too.

Tokien class was one of the best classes I have ever taken with the best professor at UST. He is so knowledgeable and excited about helping students to pursue and explore their own ideas in 3 papers on which he works with you. Also 1 presentation, but the class is so interesting that the assignments were fun. Also encourages to publish papers.

Dr. Warren is very friendly and nice. Class is usually interesting and goes by quickly. Quit a bit of reading, but only 3 papers. A few quizzes, but no tests. He recommends that students visit the writing center and will give extra credit if you go!

Dr. Warren is so awesome. Always happy to help during office hours. Honestly you don't really even need to read the books except to have something to write your papers on. I looked forward to his class. Also: DON'T BE RUDE. If you use your computer/phone during class he will be mad. Otherwise he's totally awesome defnitely take his class!

Comment:

Dr. Warren is one of the best teachers I've had at UST. He always keeps the topics interesting and gives a lot of time for group discussion. Our class has become super tight over the semester because of it. The papers can be hard, but with one partner paper, it's definitely not hard to get an A. Take advantage of office hours though.
