Just assigns reading material and you teach yourself. He gives a 2 min video of himself and the rest is TED Talks. Did a group project in an 100% online course... On that project I was deducted 10% for missing slides. I asked what slides I was missing so I could do better. He told me that grading projects is not an exact science. Rubric anyone?

The class was partially online so we only had to come to class once a week. Most of the work was online and he was very fair about grading. The only problem I had with the class was the group writing assignments. People wouldn't do their part and then I'd get stuck writing their parts for them. Still liked Cottle and his class despite those terribl

I had Dr. Cottle for two classes in my undergraduate career. He is a great professor in every aspect. He listens, is always willing to help out, has fair tests and a fair grading system, and is also very funny, which helps! :)

He is great.he's young enough so that he knows how to relate things so that we will understand. he always explains his point well with an example and moves onto the next subject. you always have powerpoint notes to follow and he never takes time on things not important to the test. if you go to class and listen you will do well.. im making above 10

Great professor-would definitely recommend him to anyone and would take him again for future DFEC classes I may need. Has lecture notes on WebCt which makes listening easier because you can have notes already printed before class. Over all he is great! He's kind of cute too. Thats a plus

The way he teaches this class actually keeps me interesting in learning the material and the fact that he posts the notes online for you is great because you're able to pay more attention in class as opposed to copying notes and not being able to listen. Plus... he knows what hes talking about.

I took him for Human Development and Romantic Relationships and he is an AMAZING teacher. He lets you print off powerpoints so you don't have to write, his classes are energetic and fun and he is a major cutie. :)

I love him! His tests come straight from the lecture notes which are avaliable on Web CT and the class is easy. You get credit for going and have 2 papers that will take no time to really complete. He has a lot of great information to pass along and is willing to help with any questions. TAKE HIM FOR ALL PSYCHOLOGY CLASSES! He is amazing!!!
