466 is a difficult class. Be prepared to spend long hours in the lab. Albee kept class interesting and I learned a lot. Very clear about his policies and assignments. Quirky, but overall a good professor.

Class was very difficult, but rewarding. I spent many nights working on labs. Labs are group work and account for much of the class, be careful who you choose as group members. If you work hard and participate you will get a lot out of his class.

Lectures directly from the book and is fairly boring. If you are a good reader, you generally can skip class often and pull of a reasonable grade. Just be careful not to miss any pop quizzes.

Not a bad class. He expects you to do the leg work for HW and Labs. You would be able to learn way more if he taught both out of the book (all he does really) and he lab material. Thinks forcing the labs on students is the real world, yet we pay for him to teach the material. He does not ever show the correct way to do the labs.

I dealt with his b.s. for the semester untill he decided to give us a peer evaluation on the lab work and then didn't tell us he decided at the last minute after finals he was going to use that HW (the peer evaluation) to weight all of our lab assignments based on our rating. He had to send out a mass e-mail to us about grade appeals everyone MAD.

He is quite possibly the smartest professor in the CPS department. However, his labs are extremely difficult on purpose, and basically forces you to learn everything on your own. Not too great when you want to ask him for help on something. If you love I.T. and like to be challenged, take him. If your looking for a blow off class, then avoid him.

This class was easy, I dont know much about computers but I got an A-. if you go to lecture, turn in the projects and go to lab, it is an easy class. Lecture is boring though very monotone.

He is very smart with computers, but horrible at teaching. He uses the book power point and talks in monotone. He never answered my e-mails, and I e-mailed him at leas 5 times. He gives random quizes so you have to go to the horrible lecture or it brings your grade down. Labs weren't bad...usually get out early. I would recommend another prof.

This is not a terrible class, but he is very boring- I hardly goto lecture. Attend lab, do that stuff- do the IT, do the practice quests and you should be fine.

Horrible teaching ability. If you learn anything from this class, more power to ya. I was a computer science major, after Paul Albee's CPS 180 I am now an Art major. I did manage a B in this class, but I did more studying and work than I've ever done in my life. NOT worth it.

Albee is a really nice prof, very helpful too. He gives good examples and has plenty of office hours so you can get extra help if needed. He's very smart though it might take a while to get used to his style.

Not helpful at all.If you plan on attending his class, be an expert on computers beforehand. He had no patience if you were not smart enough to learn from his lectures....which are basically slides from the text book. Again, You will very well in the class if you are already a programmer.
