She tries to be helpful, but her exams are too hard. They include questions that we never went over. You have to get a clicker, and she counts for participation points. The class is pointless, and the lab is even worse. Take it online if you can. 4 exams (about 60 mc) and one final (95 mc) and she drops the lowest exam grade.

AVOID at all costs! she does too much and has 60+ MC questions for each exam. Her ppt are word for word from the textbook and she expects you to master the concepts. Tests are LOCKDOWN with WEBCAM. She is not to be taken Lightly and she is obsessed with time because she will only give you a minute per question. AVOID before she ruins ur GPA!!!!

Comment:
She gives lockdown browser + webcam tests that have nearly 70-80 questions each & Many of them require you to have really mastered the material. Each test covers at LEAST 5 chapters & she expects you to have read the chapter & listened to her online pwpts. overall its way more work to take ecology with her online than in person with someone else.

Dr. Jackson online is great! Very similar to lecture, weekly modules, drops a test. Perfect for a semester if you need an easier science class that fits your schedule. Tests are lockdown browser, quizzes are not. She makes a GroupMe and you have some random discussion boards. Would take again.

Teacher was decent at first. Understood how many questions you can reasonably give in a test in the allotted time and the tests weren't too bad. I guess she overheard someone say that because the the 2nd test made you feel rushed and was much harder than the first. I am just not a fan of teachers that don't know what moderation looks like.

I took Jackson online. I loved this class because I am a very self disciplined learner and I have test anxiety so a typical science lecture hall is not the best environment for me mentally. She gives many quizzes and five tests which are a bit tricky. If you can do an online class, this is a great option

Dr. Jackson is very passionate about ecology, but tends to jump all over the place when lecturing. She gives participation points and in-class activities. The quizzes are pretty easy as long as you read, but tests are very hard and long. Tests are also entered on an clicker, which gives you less time.

Had Jackson for Plant Ecology. Felt like the majority of the course was a review of Bio 1-2, Ecology, and Evolutionary. Learned a few new things but mostly looked over the study guides, and Powerpoints, and made easy B's on all tests. Lecture is boring, participation counts for 2.7% of grade. Lab requires papers, a debate, and a group project.

I took the hybrid class and it was not well organized. Dr. Jackson is all over the place. Her tests are hard. You basically teach yourself. I would not take this class if I had it to do over.

This class teach you information that you have already learned. I felt it was a waste of money but I don't make the rules. She was not organized with the class schedule. She doesn't respond to emails until its too late. She reads the powerpoints word from word. Her exams questions come form the powerpoints even though she wants you to read the boo

Dr. Jackson's Ecology class was not very difficult, but does require effort in order to make the grade you want. 3 exams total plus the final exam(cummulative). No tests dropped, but pretty good study guides are provided for each exam. I-clickers are used almost every lecture and participation points count towards your grade, so go to class.

Dr. Jackson is amazing. She knows this material so well and can through in some really interesting information based off of her research in tropical climates all over the world. She is really approachable about any issues. There are A LOT of labs and you will be working on three at one time, so just be prepared. It is a fun class.

Dr. Jackson is an awesome professor! She will do anything she can to help. It's important to attend her lectures because it helps you keep up with the material and she asks questions in class to help you gauge how well you know the material. She's very knowledgeable about what she teaches. I would take this class again.

Professor Jackson is the nicest and most helpful professor ever. I went to class about 50% of the time and made an A, but I definitely wish I'd gone to class and participated more because her tests are pretty tricky.

Making a B in this course is like, an A in other courses. I like this professor, but her exams are deff not your typical multiple choice questions. She makes her exams like "puzzles". You must read the book in its entirety and you must come to class in order to pass the exams. attendance isnt taken but some questions come directly from lecture

i FOUND HER TO BE NICE BUT BOY DID SHE JUMP ALL OVER THE BOOK. THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE IN THE CLASS THAT ARE PASSING SAID THEY HAD TO TEACH THEMSELVES. ITS REALLY HARD TO GET CLEAR ANSWERS OUT OF HER, OH CHECK YOUR GRADES SHE MAKES A LOT OF MISTAKES

She is a very good teacher, conveyed both what she expected out of us and what she didn't want. Was a little lenient on lecture (attendance to lecture wasn't mandatory), but went all out in the lab. More lenient if you're turning in things. Graded fairly. Her personality is among the best here at KSU. Take her for as many classes as you can.

Dr. Jackson is a great professor. I found her personality to be laid back but she is clear on her expectations of you in class and on reports. She is also very willing to help if you ever find the need. Tests are primarily lecture based and I found it helpful to attend because the powerpoints are just outlines for her lectures.

Dr. J, is interesting to say the least. She definitely loves her research and she can be a bit spacey. Her powerpoint are bit vague, best thing is do not miss her class otherwise you might be lost on her tests. I would recommend her, if you have issues make sure you go to her early and ask her for help.

Dr. J is very sweet and interested in her research; I think this is her downfall. She's a bit spacey, and you can tell she'd rather be outdoors than lecturing. Her grading policies aren't very clear, and her tests are ambiguous [choosing the "most correct" answer]. The book's not required, but helpful to back up vague notes. Not too hard overall.
