I'm good at math, and this is the hardest class I've ever taken. Not sure if I just don't get Physics or what, but this class is hard.

Comment:
Dr. Nelson is clear and concise in lectures. There have been a few times that he fails to explain a concept, but anything he skips he either addresses during the next lecture or in an example in class. You do need an iClicker for this class, any type works, and there is at least 2 questions per day with it. There are also reading quizzes.

He was a pretty good professor. He knew what he was talking about, easy to understand, clear examples, thoroughly answered questions, and the problems were similar to test questions. I got As on the midterms and its easy if you go to class and do your homework . If youre looking for an upbeat exciting professor hes not your guy.

Comment:
Dr. Nelson is a decent professor but is not very enthusiastic about what he is teaching. He often rushes through lectures and doesnt go over key conceptual questions in as much detail. He is however easy to understand and the class offers so much extra credit that an A is attainable with a decent work ethic and critical thinking skills.

Tests are extremely difficult: 20 multiple choice questions, no partial credit. Nelson is helpful in emails and responds quickly. However, he does not seem to care when teaching the class. He is there to lecture and does not really care if anyone listens or understands the material. Worst class I have taken thus far (just finished freshman year).

Astro Lab Fall06. He's awful! Go to ratevtteachers.com and read details about him.Syllabus said 1 lab grade would be dropped but then at the end of the semester decided to reward people with perfect attendance a 0.5% curve.I had a overall final grade of 89.55% and since I missed ONE class (that he told us we could miss) he refused to curve me 0.45%
