Comment:

Attendance is mandatory. He expects one person to get an A. He is not good at posting up grades on time. He assigns homework you dont know how to do. There isnt enough time for the exam to be finished. And its not us students, its the professor; there is no structure for the chemistry classes. The quizzes are also on things we dont know yet.

Comment:

Taking Orgo 1 as a BIOLOGY major. First exam felt easy but second exam was unbelievably hard. It's hard to get 40 questions done in 50 minutes..... in ORGO! Also, he puts things on his tests that he realized wasn't supposed to be on there. Also, he assigns homework problems and later says "Oh sorry you weren't supposed to do that." :)

Comment:

Passionate about keeping people from abusing drugs and alcohol by keeping them informed. Reads from the Bible at the start of each class. Provides plenty of extra credit where you will get an A in the class as long as you do the reading. Open book quizzes and tests / final mostly definitions and matching. Kind and understanding professor.

I would take him again. He was so funny and the class was easy. You will need your textbook so get it right away. He lets you know what is on the test (basically just vocab and true and false from the book). On one of the tests, he gave an extra 20 points. I finished the class with a 98%!

Comment:

Brother Pierre was one of my favorites for my short time at Lewis. He is HILARIOUS! I was in Intro to Orgo for Nursing. He made it very simplified for us, I know how hard Orgo already is. He makes jokes, but only if you get to know him. He can seem tough at first, but he's a softy. Very nice and whenever he sees you out of class he says hello.

There is a quiz every day, if there's too many questions about the homework he will just say pass the quiz in everyone gets 100. This is cool but I still need to know the material. He reads directly from the screen with no explanation. The test comes around and we're not prepared, he's a very nice person though. The class was a let down

General chemistry 1 with Brother Pierre was extremely hard. He spent most of the time cracking jokes and giving speeches about passion. The problem was that he would yell out random numbers and do the rest in his head, and because he is a nuclear chemist he can skip most of the steps to problems that we can't because we are just learning,Difficult

Brother Pierre does come off kind of 'hard', but once you get used to him and his class he's usually pretty easy going. He talked a lot about 'finding your passion' which was refreshing. His tests were pretty easy, the questions were straight from the book. I would take him again.

This class was so difficult because he never taught anything he can read a powerpoint but he does not teach things that actually help a student . He gets mad a lot when students do not understand the material and gives problems from the book as tests the only problem is how do you solve it if you don't know it. He never connected to the students.

Not a very good teacher. Honestly, he doesn't even teach. He reads from the slides and isn't very clear when trying to explain things, if he ever does. Going to class is pointless; I've learned more from the book than from him. He expects you to memorize all the homework problems for the test instead of teaching why the answers are right.

The WORST professor I have every had. Brother just reads off the books provided powerpoints and you learn nothing. Everything is memorization and he makes Organic a very hard class. AVOID HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE!

He came in to replace a horrible first year chemistry teacher. He took the time to go back and reteach us the material we did not understand before. He helped us a lot on the tests and the finals and made everything clear. He is a wonderful educator!

I LOVE BROTHER P!!this man is the most entertaining guy at this school, very sarcastic and funnny! i dont like chemistry but with him i enjoyed going to class everyday! he doesnt use powerpoints he just writes down what he thinks is the most important parts you need to know, quizzes everyday SUPER easy though. TAKE BROTHER P you will love him!!

I LOVE THIS MAN! If you have the chance to take him, do it. He will do everything in his power to get you through chemistry. Always double check tests because helpers grade them. He is smart, funny, and a joy to be around. TAKE HIM!

Br. Pierre is paranoid. He a couple people cheating in spring '05, and now he assumes that everyone is. Be VERY careful. Also, the WORST grader ever. Not bad with partial credit, but can't add or use the right check mark. Too bad he's the only one..

Br Pierre is hilarious. You have homework and a quiz everyday. Tests and quizes are on the homework probs. it takes 4 hours of studying to get an A on a test. Its a fast pace class and Pierre knows this so he goes out of his way to help students that are having problems. He is intimidating at first but he has a real sweet side.

Br. Pierre is a hilarious man who really knows his stuff. His tests though straight from the book are very hard because alot of the books problems are exceptions to the principles you learn in class. His class is very difficult yet very rewarding. He tries to be as fair as possible. DO NOT mess around in his class... he will flip out!!!
