Lombardo's class is disappointing. There are 2 papers, both of which you are expected to not use the lecture as a resource, and 2 tests which are vocabulary tests from the book's vocab words. The lectures are completely separate and were not tested on. They are a complete waste of time yet attendance is mandatory. Very short in email. BUT EASY!

Took Lombardo for policing. Would definitely recommend him if you need CJC 203, not a ton of effort needed but not a blowoff course either. A nice guy too, knows his way around policing (ex-CPD). One debate presentation, 2 papers, and some exams.

A lot like a high school class. His lectures were repetitive and uninspiring. A vast majority of the class time was him reading, word for word, off of a powerpoint. If you are looking for a class in which you did a moderate level of work for very little intellectual reward then this should be a perfect fit.

This was an awesome class with a fantastic professor. Lombardo is a chill, funny, interesting guy who does a great job making an interesting subject even better. He will keep you laughing every minute, and he's just a great person. Definitely take him if you can!

I'm convinced gangs are his true love in life. Very knowledgable on the subject. Guest speakers are current or former gang members. 3papers, a midterm, a final, and attendance. Pretty easy if you just regurgitate stuff. Don't get fancy, it doesn't score well. He has the perfect Chicago accent, but lectures are boring. Reading unnecessary.

Waste of time. He is a former officer, and now professor that teaches municipal operations. You would think it would've been better. Regurgitates the book in powerpoints. Little to no interest by students, and he doesn't want to be there either. I had many high school classes that were more challenging, and worth more time than this.

There is no point in taking notes in this class. You just need to show up and kind of act interested. Attendance is part of the grade. He style rubbed me the wrong way, but he was easy and nothing was too difficult. Take him if you need to- easy enough class

Lombardo rocks! There is a lot of reading and homework but no tests -- no freakin' tests. Lots of papers but NO TESTS. Ha. He mainly has an open discussion for every class which keeps things interesting but you have to participate a bit. Again, Lombardo rocks, class is interesting, and fairly easy. Take him -- for everything you possible can.

He's such a cool dude. Tons of reading and should probably be a writing intensive course. The readings are awesome and the class discussions are always interesting to say the least. One phrase sums him up, "When I grew up at Chicago and Pulaski." Take any of his classes. You'll learn and have fun listening to his accent.

Easy class- the material can be dry, but he makes it exciting and easy class to get through. One big paper and presentation- but isn't a big deal and doesn't grade is harshly. Tests are easy- just look at the vocab from book and the sample questions online.

Lot like HS. One big paper that I don't think he's even going to read that comes along with a short presentation. HW online but I do it in class (you can email him the answers) don't buy the book EVERYTHING is on the book's website that you will need. multiple choice tests over key terms only. go over HW Qs before the tests. He's an ex cop.

I also took him for CRMJ305. Both classes are pretty easy no matter who you take them with (criminal justice isn't exactly rocket science), but Lombardo is the best. He's really nice, he's hilarious, and he always has great stories. I highly recommend him. Easy A and very enjoyable. Test are MC (mainly off vocab & theories) and there is 1 paper.

Overall the class isn't too terribly challenging however there is a paper due towards the end of the semester that some may find difficult. It's cool getting to hear his experiences as a Chicago detective/police officer. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn the foundation of criminology (and wants an easy "A" as a bonus).

Lombardo is a great professor. He brings experiences from being on the CPD to class. He is hilarious, and the class is easy, too. The 1 test and final are 50 MC questions based on vocab in the book. There is 1 project that is easy, too. definitely recommend!

Apparently I'm the only person who didn't like him very much. I guess it's an easy class, but it isn't very thought provoking. Multiple choice tests, a paper that's graded subjectively, and he counts class participation by calling your name off the role sheet and asking a question. I guess the whole class just kinda reminded me of highschool...

Awesome teacher. Takes attendance, but utilizes PP so the lectures are enjoyable. Tests are straightforward, but papers not so much. Funny guy with 30+ years of experience in CRMJ. Chicago accent is a bonus.

I've taken him 3 times. He's great and influenced me to declare criminal justice as my major. His gangs class was frustrating cause there was 5pg paper due every other week or something and its not writing intensive class, it SHOULD be. But overall, great guy.
