Comment:

Dra. Bird is somewhat strict, but she is one of the best professors of the college. If you make an effort in class and communicate with her you will have no problems. She is clear about what she expects from her students and she is passionate about teaching. The only way you'll fail is if you were lazy. I LOVED every class I took with her.

Comment:

Dr. Bird isn't a super tough teacher, but she does expect you to participate and to work and have homework done everyday. Some people may not have liked her, but I did and I really enjoyed her class. There is homework for every class and there are quite a few quizzes and a test for each chapter.

Dr. Bird is a great instructor! She is funny and really helps students learn the material. The class is a lot of work but Dr. Bird gives it to help students learn. Study, study, study!

I had her a few semesters ago, but taking Spanish 2 with her was so much fun! There were times that I struggled during the semester but she was really helpful. Even when my book (with all my notes) was stolen after midterms, she let me use her book for class instead of making me go buy another book.

She usually comes in class with a bad attitude. I am generally very good at Spanish, but her class was extremely hard. I think she thinks she is teaching Spanish 4 instead of Spanish 2. If the class doesn't participate, she threatens to give us a quiz, which is pretty childish. She comes off too rude for me to even enjoy class.

She is super funny and sweet, we hugged on the last day! She makes the class interesting and LOVES people who speak up. She used to be a civil rights activist in Puerto Rico, and will be the first person to tell you that she went to jail for protesting ha and she LOVES hunky black men, She is always joking about how Kevin Durant is her Boyfriend.

I had Rosa Bird for Spanish II. She is a great professor and really has a heart for helping and teaching. I really enjoyed her class and her sense of humor. Come to class with a good attitude, even if you think the class is hard. She can make it fun if you are willing to joke with her.

Intermediate Spanish I: I dreaded this class. I thought the professor hated me for a couple weeks then I started talking in class and she loved me! SHe loves interracting with her students and will tell you hilarious stories about her life in Puerto Rico! I WISH SHE WAS TEACHING INT. II :( DEFINATELY TAKE HER FOR CLASS!! be prepared to read!

I took Dr. Bird for Latin American Literature and Generacion del 98. She is an excellent professor. You have to read everything she assigns, but if you love Spanish it is not bad. She makes it interesting, and explains it much better than my previous Span. lit professor. She seems really harsh at first, but it's just her humor.

Worst spanish teacher ever! I'm a spanish major and have had this class before, when the students around me were confused I helped them, however professor bird got extremly mad at me. She is very unhelpful and impossible to contact. She will not take make acceptions to anything not even medical emergencies. I would reccommend not to take this class

La Dra. Bird es una profesora fenomenal! She has a great sense of humor. Listen in class and study the notes she gives you and you'll do fine. Take her class- her smile and her enthusiasm for teaching are both inspiring and contagious.

Very good if she wasn't so rude at times. Nice in class, but she definitely has her class favorites(biased for men) which is not a good thing for the girls. Talk to her in person she's not very nice. She can be biased on who she allows in late or who she allows to turn in assignments late depending if you're a guy.

Sra. Bird is a little brutal at times, but you WILL learn Spanish in her class. She seems rough but isn't that tough. Just go to class and do your homework and she will like you. After taking another Span teacher, I like Sra. Bird even better now. She knew how to teach and how to make you understand it.

The class was a good class to take. Her weekly quizzes weren't too bad as long as you get a basic concept of the readings. Her tests are more detailed and require some good studying. The 8-10 page essay was time consuming and stressful. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time.

I had her for Imtermediate 1, a couple of yrs ago she was beyond horrible. Very rude and un-helpful when you needed help. She frequently expected the class to know (or remember) how to do something and when we asked her to remind us how to do it she would get mad at us! My class had approx. 24 students, at the end of the semester less than 10.
