Comment:
The absolute hardest class I have ever taken. He does nothing to help students no matter how much I asked him to help me. His lectures are boring, he completly ignored my emails and his grading policies are the most confusing thing. I took his class twice because he was the only proffesor to teach it and ended up just dropping out of Radford.

This is a difficult class dont get me wrong but he is probably the best teacher ever he knows literally everything about math. If you struggle with math he will recognize that and teach it so that you can understand. He is retiring this year but im so glad I got the chance to take his class I am very ready for business calculus

seems as if he doesn't care to see his students pass offers very little help. all of his assignments are online except for the final does not prepare you at all. boring lectures make you want to never come back to his class. all around worst class I've taken at Radford and the hardest professor I have ever had.

this dude is a joke, his notes are majority paragraphs and gives few examples. He claims he doesn't "believe" in grading, so uses a online website to do so. Do not take this class.

his notes are extremely hard to follow. YOU MUST SHOW UP TO CLASS or you will not pass. There are no exams just a final. & the homework assignments are hard. His grading is different so if you recieve a D you really get a C in his class, If you get a B you really recieve a A. and so on. The class itself is difficult but he is a good professor.

Take Fawthrop if you are not good at math, it is your only chance. 2 assignments per week and he takes the highest grade (only did one per week). Participation matters so go to class. No tests or quizzes until the final. I promise you if you go to class, pay attention, and spend 30 minutes on homework a week you will pass. He is a great professor.

Had him in his flipped class for Business Calculus. Best decision I ever made. Listen to lectures outside of class and in class he is there to guide you through some of the homework and extra assignments he gives. One of the few professors I have ever know to do a 15 point grading scale.

Guys, come on. Fawthrop's way of teaching is about the last thing you'd ever expect from a professor. Attendance is half of the grade itself, tests are nonexistent with the exception of a few optional midterms (aka, safety nets), 99% of your grade is based on WebAssign assignments. I had him for MATH 125 and thought he was overall great.

Fawthrop was a pretty solid choice for MATH 125 and I will be taking him next semester for 126. You have two HW assignments a week, but absolutely no tests or quizzes until the final. You get to make your own study guide and bring it to the final, which is very very nice. Take him if you are not a good test taker.

Sure, his lectures are boring and he's not the most interesting of professor, but his assignments are very straightforward, and his grading criteria is beyond fair and reasonable. The WebAssign assignments are very helpful. Seriously, I don't understand - go to class and do the assignments. Attendance accounts for over half the grade too.

No tests throughout the entire semester but there are assignments online that take about 2 hours that are difficult on webassign. The final is so difficult, but he is a good teacher so if you need assistance he will help. Most peoples grades dropped almost a whole letter point because of the final like mine. DO NOT MISS CLASS!!

Professor Fawthrop is a great professor. I've had him for Math 125 and Math 126. If you do the practice assignments on webassign, it shows you how to do the problems, so it's easy to do well on the actual assignment. If you put in the work and go to class, it's not hard to keep an A. Only test you are required to take is the final.

Professor Fawthrop is a good professor, if you miss class, you have to make it up in his office hours the next class day to get credit. You have weekly quizzes once a week on webassign that are pretty difficult. However, he does allow 'safety nets' quite often.

Lecture heavy, notes explain how to do most of the work. Weekly quizzes are given which are easy to complete. The practice quizzes before the actual quiz show you how to solve the problems, so you should take the pictures and apply it to the actual quiz. Attendance is mandatory, if you don't show up you will fail. Overall, not a hard class

Although he lectures and gives notes they don't help at all when it comes to doing the assignments. Ive had to self teach myself because the notes don't help at all. There are work sessions every week to do practice but he doesn't help at all in his "explanations". He almost makes you feel dumb for not understanding the material.

He is a very tough professor, however, if you go to class, take notes, and do the ONE weekly assignment you will easily pass. The weekly assignments have practice versions that are the exact same as the actual assignment. You have to attend class, it will bring your grade down. He has a 15 point grading scale which saved many.

By far the worst teacher I have ever experienced. I got a B+ in 125 and am nowhere near that in his class. He writes paragraphs in his notes and is useless when you ask for help. He's rude and his grading style as well as overall class is a confusing mess. If you aren't naturally good at math do not take him. I repeat DO NOT.

This Professor is very unconventional from his grading policies to how he teaches. You must come to class and you must do the assignments, but every one has a practice that takes you step by step. This is a very easy A if you try and you will walk away with a much better understanding. He spends class teaching fundamentals, instead of examples.

Be prepared to attend every single class or you will Fail! If you want to pass and your failing you must go to him and show him your dedicated. He's not going to help you with a problem but guide you. 2 Assignments due every week. A optional Midterm exam. You must take final! FIND YOURSELF A TUTOR IN THE BEGINNING IF YOU CHOOSE TO TAKE HIM!
