Comment:

He counts off for spelling errors, he nit picks the heck out of everything. A lot of people in my class have failing grades because he counts off heavily for slight spelling errors or if he could possibly mistake one letter for another.

Comment:

Dr. Narey gets a bad rap, but I love him. He's brilliant and his love for his subject comes through in his lectures. His "pop quizzes" (the first day a new work appears on the syllabus, and he usually emails out a reminder) are easy if you read the material. If you respect him, he respects you.

I had him for World Lit to 1660 and he lectures heavily. He talks the whole class and is very boring. If you take a test you won't get to leave early. This class had a lot of reading but was passable if you did read. You can tell he's passionate about what he does but he is very boring.

Comment:

I have Dr. Narey for World Literature to 1600 and he really knows what he's talking about. He is pretty strict (do NOT have technology out, don't fall asleep, and don't look out the window) but it's easy to tell he wants his students to succeed. Pay attention to his lectures/take notes and read. He gives bonus on almost every quiz/test.

IF YOURE REGISTERING FOR CLASSES: this is an honest review. You get what you put in. Never gives pop quizzes. He gives you a syllabus that shows you quiz dates (first day title appears). Lectures are good. Very dry sense of humor. Works with you and wants you to do well. Gives many (easy) bonus questions on tests. Very sweet old man -- take him!!

His lectures are long but as long as you read the required text, his lectures bring understanding. His office is always open and he helps as much as he can. I loved this class because he made the boring reading interesting in his lecture. Not by being funny but by putting things in modern form. DON'T USE YOUR PHONE IN HISP CLASS.

This professor is great! I really enjoyed his class and I am happy I took him. His lectures are long but he is also quite funny and easy going. He does hate if you use your phone during class so dont.

Not only did I have him for Composition 1 but also for World Literature to 1660. Wouldn't suggest him if you sometimes need better explaining of things. Tests were always hard and he isn't an easy grader. As the semester went on he got harder and harder. Always make sure to keep electronics put away and staple papers, don't bend the corners.

Amazing professor, I loved his class. The lectures were usually long and boring but still interesting. He can be very funny. If you actually take the time to READ the stories and take notes you should have no problem getting an A. Plus, he always gives pretty easy bonus questions. Just make sure not to have any electronics out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

His lectures were long and oftentimes you find yourself falling asleep. He allows absolutely no technology cell phones in his classroom. Listen intently to his lectures and you'll pass. You must do the reading and study the reading to pass the quizzes. Must study for tests.

I really enjoyed Dr. Narey's World Lit class. It is obvious from the get-go that he knows his material! Often he will get side tracked&30 minutes have past and he is lecturing on a completely different subject- while it was interesting, it didn't help on the test! 4 tests, pop quizzes often. Not one assignment. Funny and extremely flexible&helpful

Comment:

Dr. Narey is easily one of my favorite professors. His class is very interesting and he really wants every student to do well. He is really into what he teaches and very energetic about his subjects. If you show up for class and pay attention to his lectures you're likely to pass the class easily. Definitely would take again.

I like Dr. Narey, he does care about students. Not as bad as others rated above, not that boring and difficulty. Judge people very fair, and he records all your mistakes and performances. Take his class, if you do what he asks you to do, you will fine.

He still is one of the worst teachers. He rambles about nonsense that WILL PUT YOU TO SLEEP. He grades very harsh and is far from easy! His class is super hard!
