Comment:
lectures were average but when it came test time he would use problems we had hardly worked on instead of the ones we had spent alot of time on. Labs are the only reason i passed. His study guides are a waste of time because the material most likely wont be the ones on the test

Landers spent most class time working problems from the textbook which I found very useful as I understood the way he explained. However, you never knew what to expect for hard tests. You truly must study everything. There was no homework grades to help boost your overall grade. Your grade was made up from 3 tests, labs, lab quizzes, and a final.

Tough tests, no homework but if you don't work problems on your own you won't pass. Lectures are useless because he only works textbook problems which you can do on your own. Good idea to read the textbook. He needs to explain concepts better and do more demonstrations. Quiz questions come straight from textbook. Scales overall grades a few points

Allen Landers does not teach. He solves questions without questions. Therefore, there is no point to attend this class.

Comment:
Lander's grading is very hard. There are only three tests and a final which are worth 70% of the grade and the rest is for the labs and quizzes. So if you missed up one test or two you will end up with a D or most likely an F.

honestly, this was the worst class I have ever taken at Auburn. Landers give lectures by answering questions without teaching the concept which was not helpful since I didn't know about anything in this course. the grading in this class was though there was no homework to get a grade from.

There's no sugar coating it, Landers's class and tests are hard. He's very smart and sometimes overcomplicates the lectures which makes it very hard to follow at times. That being said, he's a great guy who's pretty funny/entertaining, and it's definitely in your best interests to visit his office hours. Loved the teacher, just a hard class.

Landers is a good guy and wants you to do good, but he just doesn't explain the material well enough. He was absent for the like the last few weeks of school and we didn't know a third of the stuff on the common final because he didn't teach it to us.

Allen Landers sucks. Bring a pillow to class so when you pass out, your head won't hit the desk. He talks about every irrelevant thing possible in class, is not accessible in office hours, and is just plain dumb. He honestly doe want his students to do well, but he's not capable of teaching someone how to breathe.

definitely one of my favorite teachers ever. I was really nervous going into this class as I had barely taken this type of course before, but he made me feel confident in my abilities as a student. almost always available outside of class and dedicates even the few minutes he has between classes to help people with physics. definitely would take.

Landers is amazing. Engineering Physics is a super intimidating class at Auburn, but Landers makes it easy to question why. His lectures are entertaining and he describes the material in ways that makes it easy for everyone to understand. Take him, he's fantastic.

Landers is a really good choice for Engineering Physics. He is entertaining and does a good job of explaining the math. The tests are pretty standard and have a balance of multiple choice and free response.

The worst professor I have ever had. Hadn't taught since 2006 and it shows because he is awful at it. All he does is make up problems and work problems from the book except he confuses himself halfway through and solves them wrong 30% of the time. His tests aren't what he teaches in class because he doesn't actually teach anything in class. Awful.

Worst teacher ever. A dead dog could teach this class better than he did. His lecture had nothing to do with the tests. He said he would curve but he lied all semester long. Absolutely worst class ever. People watched Netflix during class- that's how unrelated his lecture was with the tests.

Comment:
He wants his students to use their intuitions. Figure out units, approximate answers if time is short on a test, sketch wave-functions, use substitutions and justifiable shortcuts, write down reasoning for why you think an answer is or is not correct. All this counts big time. May only allow a math table/handbook. No formula sheets for our class.
