Comment:

This course included 4 major documents, a formal project, group assignments, & blog posts over the assigned readings. Emails were sent on her behalf often regarding assignments, but the class had a hard time getting responses when we reached out. Due dates were changed numerous times throughout the semester without our knowledge. Never again.

Comment:

She makes the class TOUGH considering the course (1301). She is very laid back in the beginning of the semester, but at the end of the semester she had "valuable time" so she made her last assignment EXTREMELY hard (3 Errors MAX). She doesn't tell you what kind of essay youre writing, and she doesn't use Blackboard. I learned NOTHING in this class.

Comment:

Do the reading required, and you will be fine. Slack off, and it will show pretty quickly. Was not a lot of things in this class that were graded, and the final paper was all that we did after spring break. Was not hard, just had to put the time in, like any other class. Great teacher for the subject. Textbook was expensive, but we didn't use it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I took her online Technical Writing class and it's been a nightmare. She doesn't give much if any feedback and takes months to grade anything. She expects assignments to be turned in at a certain time or date but won't tell you what it is. Our entire class is struggling to even pass, Terrible professor.

I took her for both 1301 and 1302 and loved her. She is a little bit of a tough grader on essays but that is because the assignments are very easy and a lot shorter than most other profs. Gives a make up essay once in the semester. I highly recommend taking her class.

Barbra miles is a horrible professor! Avoid taking her if you can. She's is such a tough grader and changes assisgnments at the last minute.

Never clear with her grading criteria. Extremely one-sided when she grades your responses. If she doesn't agree with our response, good luck getting a good grade. Very unorganized. Never uses blackboard, only uses emails.

Miles is one of the nicest teachers ever, she is just too smart for her own good. Composition 2 or composition 1 (I took them both) should not be this hard! She makes her class so difficult.

There is a lot of work in this class. Several quizzes over reading, & things discussed in class, and papers. If you aren't a stronger writer you will suffer she grades papers tough! She is pretty nice teacher in general once you get to know her, & will help you if she sees your trying. But you probably wont get an A in her class.

Essays are easy. Quizzes in class are hard but she drops the lowest 2. Doesn't respond to emails so be sure to ask questions in class. Overall, not too bad. Taking her again for 1302.

Ms. Miles is really nice and chill. She doesn't really care about attendance, and her essays are pretty short compared to other teachers. Come to class and do the work and you should easily pass. She is kind of a hard grader. Gives lots of easy quizzes and drops the lowest two grades. Taking her for 1302. Do not get the textbook, you don' need it.

Took her class for English 1301. I At first she made it seem like the course was going to be very hard and hard to pass but ended up being a good class. Test where very hard. but doing well on quizzes and essays will help a lot. I made a B in the class , you have to put in a little more effort and studying though for this class.

Very nice lady, but impossible to make an A in her class.. We had a quiz almost every week, but you hardly ever know what it's going to be over. I wish I wouldn't have taken her.

Comment:

I like English and Mrs. Miles. She has been an English Professor for a while, so I have a lot of respect for her. English 1301 is mainly grammar based and not a whole lot of writing. Her quizzes and tests are simple as long as you study the spelling list (which is super simple) and read the required texts in The Bedford Reader.

She is very difficult to stay interested in. She is on and off topic so its confusing to pay attention too. She speaks in the same tone for the whole class period, so again its back to snoozing in class. i was out for unexpected surgery and she wouldn't allow me to make anything up. She expects too much but doesn't teach enough. AVOID THIS CLASS.

Was very nice if you were her favorite. Make sure you follow her directions and come to class!She is not the easiest or nicest, but if you're a decent writer and okay at grammar you should at least make a B. Her class kind of remindeds me of high school. :(
