She's alright. I don't take a French language class with her and she seems to prefer her French students over others. She often forgets to post readings and assignment prompts until a day or two before they're due. Her feedback on papers isn't super constructive, she gives you a 2-3 page limit and then asks why you didn't cover everything.

Gallouet is a very nice woman, however she is incredibly spacey -- she lost my final paper and accused me of not turning it in! (I received a nice apology once she found it, though!) She goes through material quickly, so those without a solid background will struggle. She is willing to help though, and her quizzes came right from our work book.

I love this woman. I TAd for her so I'm a little biased. I was at HWS in the mid 90s and I still keep in contact with her today. Her lit classes are pretty difficult due to the reading material and the amount of time in which to read it. But she will bend over backwards to help you.

Catherine Gallouet is one of the most passionate and inspired profs I have come across here. Her courses are tough, but she grades fairly and it's not impossible to get A's in her courses. She's pretty awesome.
