Comment:

Dr. Hall is super friendly but his classes can be challenging. His exams are fairly hard but as long as you study carefully and take good notes you should be fine. His lectures are really interesting and I rarely got bored in his class. Great overall, definite recommend as long as you are willing to study hard and pay attention.

Comment:

Amazing teacher! I had him for BIO 111 and although some parts were quite confusing, he explained them in great detail. The class before test day, he will let you ask all the questions you want so I suggest you study and prepare questions for this review session. All of his test are from content he says or that is on the PowerPoint.

I studied for one of his exams for 8 days and still got a 65. i have a hard time understanding his questions as they are worded extremely confusing and when i went to his office hours for help he was very hard to talk to and made me feel very small and stupid. he didnt try to answer my questions, just wanted to tell me how i was wrong

Rushes through lectures, nothing he says in class is on the slides. Tests are 80% slides and 20% what he says but the questions are choose the best answer. Went to office hours to get help and all he said was "If it was on the slides or I said it it's important you need to know all of it." Only grades are tests and the class average is 60-69

Dr. Hall is okay- in all honesty, that's about all I got. His tests are VERY hard ( the averages are high D's and low C's ), the lectures are boring and he skips a lot of things and assumes you know it. Having him for lab is fun though- you can tell he really loves bio.

Dr. Hall is great. He keeps everything interesting and provides many examples to make concepts more clear. His tests are challenging, but there are plenty of "give me questions". Tons of extra credit opportunities, but it's up to you to take advantage. He posts power points, but it's harder to grasp if you skip because exams come from what he says.

I loved having him! But his Bio 111 class has pretty challenging tests. He only tests you on what he says in class during lecture, you don't have to actually read the text book. It's a great class because there is not really any actual homework expect studying for exams, but that means less grades!

Coming into college I loved Biology, but after taking Dr. Hall that changed and I didn't like it anymore. He talks too fast, and goes off topic way too much. He gives us powerpoints that are supposed to contain all of the information for our tests, but he includes questions on the test that we didn't even go over during class. Tough Class. 2/10

Don't take his intro course, but DEFINITELY take his upper level courses. They are the most helpful classes I've taken at Berry, and are perfect for pre-med/microbio students. His upper level exams are structured entirely differently than his BIO111 courses: it's all free response and no MC. His lectures are engaging and he is friggen hilarious.

Honestly he's a great guy, but much of the class had a hard time getting used to his teaching style. He teaches mostly off of a power point but flies through it and is talking about something different almost the whole time, making it hard to know what's on the test. He will try to help if you go to O.H.'s but he only wants to explain things 1 way

If someone could make a bust of this man I would sponsor it. This man is a living legend! If you are a PreMed or Bio major please please please consider taking his upper level courses, I think Dr. Hall values kid's learning experience more than anything else.

Dr. Hall is a good professor. His lectures are easy to understand and he is usually pretty helpful when you have a question in class. Tests are hard but he has a review day the class before the test. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT! He does give some extra credit if you go to events outside of class and depending on how the class does, he might give a quiz

This class was impossibly hard. I read every night and did not miss a single lecture! The average grade for the tests stayed at about 60% for every single test. Good luck! Avoid if possible. He act like everyone should know the information and zooms through it! If you ask a question he thinks is stupid, he will let you know.

Dr. Hall is very good professor! Although he rushes through the material sometimes, he usually explains it well. His tests come from his powerpoints and lectures so they are very fair. Also, he gives oodles of extra credit! I would definitely take his class again

Comment:

Dr Hall is difficult professor to get a good grade in his class. He is extremely smart and an above average teacher, but his lectures can be grueling and he can be intimidating in class if he does not like the student. If you take him be sure to read the textbook, it organizes the info much better than his sometimes scattered powerpoints.

Hall is very intelligent, but his tests are unnecessarily hard . I've studied for hours upon hours and only recieved C's on his tests. I even got a tutor for his second test, and still got a bad grade! The class average for that test was like a 49.
