One of very few professors from whom I learned much. Very knowledgeable on the subject and other related areas. Gave difficult homework but they were doable once you studied textbook and lecture material. He spent classes to help us make up deficient background in discrete math, and was always helpful outside of classroom.

Professor Dai is quite possibly one of the worst professors I have ever taken at Oklahoma State. He blames wrong answers on students not trying enough; claims he is not there to teach. Very hard to understand, insane tests that you will never finish, doesn't upload grades so good luck knowing if you'll pass. Absolutely terrible professor.

Best professor of computer science department at Oklahoma State University. Classmates with inadequate prerequisities give unjust complaints. Dr. Dai prepares and delivers articulate lectures, which provoke us to think more in understanding and solving problems. Teach the course in the right way at college level.

The worst professor at OSU. Doesn't explain anything in class and expects you to figure it out. In office hours he'll judge you for not understanding what he's teaching. Purposefully leaves things out of lecture and then expects you to know what to do on the homework.

His formal language theory class is one of the best courses at OSU computer science. His homeworks/tests are hard but it will teach you the fundamental concept of computer science.

Covered all important fundamental concepts and techniques, and key ideas and logics in developing correct approaches and solutions - rare traits in teaching. Challenging homework and tests, but rewarding. Always available for help inside and outside classes.

Worst lecturer ever: He basically reads of his lecture slides and never gives good examples. Does not want to help you prepare for the tests and will scorn you if you ask too much. The textbook is a better teacher.

Let's just say the class average on the first test was a 19%. In another one of his classes it was a 9%. You could answer every question but if you get a D on a test, good luck. But, if you get around the class average, he gives you a C at the end of the semester. No one gets an A. The homework is impossible. Hope you know graduate level math.

To sum it up, he expects you to have learned all this material in "Junior High/ High School." His lectures are hard, and not really because of his accent. I feel like I'm more watching someone write on the board. The homework is super long and really hard. If you have a chance, and you want to actually learn, go to someone else. But he curves.

After hearing a lot of horror stories, I entered this class bracing myself for the worst, but now I believe he is an excellent professor. Homework and tests are very hard, but he expects students to ask questions and wants to help you understand. If you want the easy route, don't take him, but if you want to learn for the future I highly recommend.

He is one of the worst, if not the worst. Scratch that, he is the worst professor I have had at OSU. Homeworks are nearly impossible and the programs are impossible for an undergrad. Avoid this professor at all costs, even if it means adding another semester.

Received A's and B's in all my other upper division computer science classes. Dai gave me a D for the same amount of time and effort(I say Dai gave, not I earned because this was the case). He is knowledgeable in some areas, but he is really a terrible teacher with really poor teaching practices. High score first test was 13/40. No curve.

This man is not fit to teach this class. The class was lost the entire semester. The test averages were in the 50's, homework problems were near impossible, he would consistently hold the class 10 minutes late. On the bright side however he does curve the final average very dramatically, and if you try you'll pass. But avoid if possible!
