He made me actually be interested in history which is surprising since it was never a strong subject for me. He doesn't make you stay for the full 4 hours, is funny, and overall a great professor. Weekly papers on the movie, book, and lecture but they only have to be one page and are easy if you just take notes. Would take again

I hate history so I dreaded the core requirement for history. However, Professor O'Sullivan is easily the best professor I have had in my short time here at USF as well as the best history teacher I've had in my 13 years of schooling prior. Lectures are informative, well-planned, and rather short. The final was a 'scavenger hunt' in downtown SF

The most hilarious teacher ! No readings, no finals, no mid-terms, only you have to submit 'weeklies' which are summaries of the lectures of the past week and a final presentation you send by email. The 1h class is half lecture, half movie and he gives 1 day out of 3 free! If history is a core, take his class it's such an easy A and you gonna laugh

Awesome teacher! Doesn't help much with CSET prep, but overall enjoyable class. He gives feedback throughout the semester so you always know where you stand. He also responds super fast to email.

Such a great professor. Always looked forward to attending his lectures, they're entertaining and funny. The class consists of a debate panel, final power point, and "weeklies" - which are 1 pg summaries of the weeks lecture and readings. No EXAMS. But attendance is mandatory. Seriously take him if you can, he's the best history professor at USF!

O'Sullivan is a very enthusiastic professor. He makes the lectures interesting. You have a long term group assignment and 2 presentations throughout the semester. Only 1 assignment due every week, and he is an easy grader as long as you turn something in.

I have taken all of his courses, that I can. There are no midterms, tests, and his final is a powerpoint. I enjoy doing the weeklies that consist of lecture notes, book readings, and movie notes!!! The weeklies are one page single space but I do 2-3 pages. He does take role.

I will be taking further courses with Dr. O. Entertaining lectures, great films shown in class (daily), appropriate amount weekly reading assignments. Some group projects (you would have to try hard not to get an A on these), no midterm, the final is a powerpoint. His course is easy, but I have learned more from him than any other at USF.

Great professor. Has a fantastic sense of humor and cracks jokes throughout every class. He is extremely knowledgable and during his World Since 1945 class he seemed to have known or had interviewed many of the important people being talked about (Kissinger hit on his ex-girlfriend). Attendance is mandatory. Respect.

Hands down my favorite professor so far at USF. This guy knows what he is talking about and will make sure you gain the breadth of knowledge as well. Everything is straight forward and interactive. He doesn't give out any tests, just papers and group activities. I will definitely be taking another course with him.

I absolutely loved this class! I love history and had never focused on the nitty gritty background of the US before. He mixes the books, movies and lectures really well for different learners. He is really approachable and knows his stuff! Don't miss class and be sure to read and do the weeklies because that is basically your whole grade.

Great guy but an ok professor. His lectures are interesting but you dont learn much from them. But the textbooks and readings he assigns are extremely interesting. If you take this class, make sure you read because you learn a lot from the books. Plus, midterm and final questions are derived from what you read in the books.
