He is nice but it just gets old not necessarily because of the teacher but because they teach basically the same thing everyday. I think he needs to work on his ppl skills a bit. He said a lot of things I disagree with and thinks when his students don't respond in class its because of our previous teachers. It's not a hard class

Dr. Baker is truly passionate about teaching. He wants students to understand the qualities of an effective teacher and how big of an impact one could have at a poverty school. I enjoyed Dr. Baker; however, the Education course was a big boring sometimes and you rarely use the text book and live text (very frustrating). Do your work = getting an A.

Amazing professor!! Really makes you want to teach and weeds out the students who are not passionate. A few papers, but they are mostly about personal opinion. Read your book, listen in class, have opinions, and talk. Not a sleeper course, but energizes you into wanting to go out an teach!

I was really skeptical of Dr. Baker at first, admittedly because of his pro-No Child Left Behind stance...however, I found him fascinating and honestly learned a lot in his class: rare, rare, rare in the education dept at UTC...

Wow. Dr. Baker opened my eyes to much. He is only arrogant in the most humble way possible. He is affable, and truly loves students (even "bad" ones). He loves PEOPLE. He may be more knowledgable than anyone I know. He is fair, and he inspires students to do their best. He is quite possibly the best teacher I have ever had. One word: Life-changing.

I have mixed feelings about Dr. Baker. Yes, I learned a lot in his class, but I was left with a bad impression of him...he can be egotistical at times...and he picks favorites in his class. He did, however, increase my interest in inner city schools.

Amazing teacher. Knows a ton about how Hamilton County and Tennessee schools work. I'd definitely recommend taking 201 from Dr. Baker if you have the chance.

Dr. Baker is very intellegent, but he is accesiable and easy to learn from. You MUST do the work and READ the book in order to pass the class. Don't get behind... you won't be able to catch up.
