Nice guy, but not the best teacher. Requires multiple texts . Unclear, long term goals and rambles on during class.

This was the topics in Pop Culture class on Fairy Tales, Dr. Latimer's area of expertise. He was awesome! A kind and caring older gentleman who cares how you do. You do need to read and pay attention in class, but he is great! I thought he was a relatively easy grader. Remembers you after you've had him and will say hi when he sees you.

The class was easy for a honors course. Quizzes were straightforward and most of the questions were from things covered in lecture. There are two papers and he grades fairly. He's a bit quirky, but he's a genuinely nice guy. As long as you take notes and read the material, you're golden.

Very nice guy, easy class. He doesn't take attendance, but quizzes are much easier if you attend lectures.

This class focuses on Fairytales. Knowing Disney references is not going to get you an A in the class. Read all the material he gives you. "Quizzes" every two weeks = test with your choice of pick 10, short answers. Interesting class, doesn't take roll. Very critical on your papers regarding content & points.

Very nice guy but he is extremely unclear in lectures. He skips around and lectures on seemingly unrelated material. Go to class enough and you will get some usefull information, but your best bet is to just read all the assignments.

super easy. interesting class if you care about the history of fairy tales. light reading until the end, when we had 3 books to read...he says he requires attendance but loses interest in taking roll...if you go to this class its an easy a, if you dont, read everything

Comment:
So unbelievably disorganized. I went to class, and by the time I left, I had no idea what I was supposed to have taken from it. He has a very wispy voice, so it's incredibly hard to pay attention and focus on what he's saying. He draws some pretty ridiculous conclusions and grades very inconsistently.

Sometimes boring but he's very easy. On every test, we had a choice of which questions to answer. They were all short answer, and we had to choose about 10 or 15 out of 20 or so. Just read and you'll be fine.

I loved this class. Latimer teaches with enthusiasm and wonderfull anecdotal asides. He tells stories that are relevant to the reading, but you donĂ¢€™t expect to hear them escape his mouth. Some of them are kind of kinky. Not personal kinky stories. Kinky stories about the Great Greeks and their love-boys. Aside from that he mixed old texts like The Iliad with new texts like The Laughter of Aphrodite. The old world/new world approach to texts made all the difference to me.

I'm into the bulk of my major courses thus eating up a lot of time. He's very understanding as he doesn't believe his class is the most important class in the world. As long as you read the books, never any summaries to find online, or listen to his summaries, you'll do just fine.

Nicest guy ever, and funny to listen to. Easy class but not the most interesting reading material. If you don't mind reading French and Russian literature, you wont have a problem.

He is the easiest Lit teacher at AU. This is the first english class that I got an A in. He is very helpful if you have problems, and his papers are EASY (and there are only two). A very laid back class, I had no trouble at all.

The most unorganized teacher I've ever experienced. His syllabus is impossible to follow. Very boring class - hard to go to. Grades on a wimb. Sometimes he'll be nice, sometimes harsh. I regret taking this class. He is however a kind man, just not a teacher I enjoy having.

A WONDERFUL LITERATURE PROFESSOR.I hated reading before I took his class, but his enjoyment of the reading overflows into the classroom & actually makes you want to read the material. It's an easy class as long as you keep up with the reading, and he is very easy to work with. I highly recommend him!

His classes are boring, but you can make a "B" easily. An "A" is hard to get because even if you read, his quizzes are HARD.

Kinda quirky, thinks really odd things are funny. I enjoyed his lectures overall, but they can go pretty slow. Quizzes are easy if you read. you only have to answer 5 out of 10 of the questions.
