Really interesting professor who cares a lot about the law and his students. Class is based on a few short papers, he has word limits instead of page minimums which is nice. Fair grader and gives good lectures.

Great professor! He is quite knowledgeable and the lectures were as entertaining as they could be. My only gripe was that he did not post a single grade until after the final. With a small class size this was unacceptable. Still, I recommend this course as it is a great introduction to law. He has a great sense of humor and was open to questions.

I took his ilc 225 @ 8am and it was fine, but boring I would say. he is well versed in his topics but lectures are boring. He's a fairly tough grader. overall, if you come to class and try, you will get a B I suppose

Very knowledgeable and kind however he fails to post any lectures or any sort of material online so attendance is a must. Great professor overall he just puts in minimal effort outside of class in terms of keeping his blackboard up to date. Relatively tough grader.

He grades a little harder than most intro class profs I've had, but I also never learned more in an intro class than I did with this prof. He really knows his stuff. Perfect amount of humor in his lectures. Three 3-page essays, two short answer/essay exams. Just write logical, well-structured essays and you're golden.

As long as you are going to class and taking notes you will do fine. The exams are pretty straight forward, and the essays aren't too complicated. He grades completely fairly. Don't let the course level scare you, it's a great introduction to civil justice.

He's just a very tough grader. I feel as if I learned things, but his grades made me think otherwise. It is a heavy lecture class, but half way through he stopped using PowerPoints, which I didn't appreciate. He does try to incorporate humor into his lectures which makes the topics a bit lighter.

I took the class because I heard he was a great professor, but instead I spent the semester bored out of my mind. There are two tests, three papers, and I barely touch the textbook. If you wanted to learn law you learn basics but this is not what I expected for this class.

He is a very monotone professor. He does not help much outside of class because he is just as vague in office hours. Also he is a tough grader for an intro class. He expects you to know things already, luckily I did but the freshmen in the class did not. He does not give much feedback. There are two exams and they are both random. No study guide.

The class is comprised of three short papers, midterm, final. He is a hard grader and he says so much and expects you to remember the random facts for his exam. WOULDNT TAKE AGAIN

Professor Dreisbach is a good lecturer in the sense that he provides students the information they need to know in an organized manner. He also doesn't lecture too quickly so students can easily keep up and ask questions. His essays can be challenging because the assignment is broad but he expects you to put a lot of thought into the papers.

BEST PROFESSOR! If you like lectures with dry humor involved, this class is perfect. Reading "required" but not necessary as long as you attend lectures. People complain about the class but if you write down everything he says during lectures and study, the tests are fair. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

He is a really nice guy! REALLY knows the topic and just overall brilliant. However, his class is lecture based. THe paper topics are not always clear and you never know what will pop up on the mid term and final. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS he is extremely helpful!

Nice guy, very helpful. His lectures can get a bit boring especially if you're prone to day dreaming, but if you pay attention and participate, they're very interesting and very informative. His assignments can be fairly vague, but he's easy to talk to and accesible for clarity. Overall good professor.

Dreisbach is terrible. His lectures barely connected to the readings. His expectations for tests and papers are absurdly vague, the whole class was caught off guard with the first exam. He's a cutthroat grader, and he's full of himself. Never take his class unless you want your semester to suck.

Horrible Professor. Don't take the class! His lectures are interesting but you never know what is important and what isn't. He doesn't put up notes and is vague about papers and tests. He is really full of himself and doesn't seem too understanding of students. The class was ridiculously unnecessary. Don't take it if you don't have to.

Really enjoyed his classes...I actually still remember a lot of them. Doesn't take himself too seriously, despite having the credentials that would give him license to do so. Really gets you involved in shaping your own thoughts on law, not just rote memorization. Highly recommended.
