The short story class was a lot of fun. We would read short stories from Edgar Allan Poe to current work today. He gives us a timeline of everything that happens during each literary period. Tests were easy, no quizzes. Just study. He gives an optional creative writing assignment instead of traditional paper. He talks about Bartleby a lot.

Best professor at DCC! I took creative writing fiction, and he gives the best feedback. The whole class also offers feedback during the workshop. For someone who loves writing and wanted to improve, this was the best class for me. I recommend taking this class, especially if you love writing.

Mr. o'neill was one of the best english teachers i have ever had. he is so amazing, his lectures are always so much fun especially for this class. he make things so interesting. There was a lot of reading but once you get past the reading it is so fun to be in class and talk. There was a 5-7 pg paper required on anything we wanted that I LOVED DO!

Great teacher. I learned so much about reading and writing. Was not boring at all (besides hamlet a bit and a couple short stories). Makes the boring stuff interesting though! Highly recommend this professor.

I love Professor ONeill!! The readings for the class were sometimes boring but he still made sure you understood the history /reason behind the text in a clear entertaining way. Never wanted to miss his class, really such a great man. Hes also very understanding and hilarious. 10/10!!

He insists on determining what the authors really mean rather than what they actually wrote and if you don't agree with him, you're wrong. He says to e-mail him with questions but never answers, A big disappointment!!! He also says that he does not have an attendance policy that it is up to you, however he hates it when you miss, that's a policy.

Great teacher. Class is a little dry but he makes up for it by being a standup guy. He also has no deadlines on his papers.

He was such a chill professor! He sat on his desk and told us to call him by his first name. Participation is a big factor in his class so if you don't like to talk, this might not be the class for you. You need to read the book to pass. If you love English and want a teacher that will encourage and challenge you, it's perfect!

Overall, I enjoyed Dr. O'Neill's class. The lectures were not so boring, he incorporated historical context to the stories we read allowing for more clarity. He only assigned two papers and gave a midterm and final so you have little wiggle room with your grade. He's willing to see you in office ours though, so get help with your papers!!

He is a really nice guy and very smart. Definitely knows what he is talking about. The only assignments were about 4 papers, no HW, and he definitely made the final as easy as possible. I have always been in Honors English, and although I steadily did better on each paper, I felt like it was impossible to do great. I think he is a tough grader.

A lot of reading, quizzes on everyday on what you read. The questions were based on things like plot, or who a character was.

I always had great grades in English, nothing lower than a B. This class was very tough. I had to push really hard to get above a C. Every little thing was nitpicked, and his handwriting was impossible to read. This made is so comments on your paper were little to no help at all. The required reading was easy, lots of poems. Seemed like a cool guy.

Keith was essentially my dream professor. He was so understanding, didn't really have a set date for papers. I dreaded this class and he actually made it interesting! So knowledgeable on everything. He took the pressure off for what was a crazy semester for me. He is a hard grader but fair! Put the effort in and you will do well! Excellent teacher!
