She is a very tough grader but if she doesn't agree with your essay your pretty much failing. It's her way or the high way. All I have to say is good luck on her last essay she gives you for the semester. No matter how hard you try your not going to pass it. Ive never heard anything more true that she will fail you with a giant smile on her face.

Comment:

Very mean to begin with, too much assignment, I am an A student but got a C+ for her class other students from different section told me how easy their classes were, it was just a nightmare for me. Be ready to annotate lots of articles, you will not like this class but if you try hard you can get a B+ (most probably) or A if you are a nerd.

Comment:

Professor Halm really cares about her students. She loves to help during office hours. The course load is somewhat large and time consuming but I learned a lot. She can be a tough grader but the knowledge aquired is what really matters here.

Comment:

Mrs. Halm is a great professor. I have learned a lot from her. But the workload consumed me and It was impossible to finish all of my work because of this class. I missed out on a lot of my homework from other classes simply because I would be spending 12 hours or more in the library every day trying to finish the homework for just this class.

Dr. Halm is a very sweet professor she cares and connects with her students. However, at times she gets carried away with her knowledge about certain topics. Just come to class prepared if she tears your paper apart take it with a grain of salt because she just wants you to be the best writer you can be but sometimes she is brutal. BUT SHE CARES

Super tough professor, does a lot of work. Super crazy towards your papers, nothing gets pass her. Makes you do, useless annotations for the last paper. Not a nice professor, like a review said in here earlier,"Will fail you with a Smile". Beware

She is super nice and friendly. There is a lot of work though. However, you get to turn in a draft first that she grades and gives feedback on. You then get another chance to hand in a final essay which is really helpful. She truly cares for her students & makes you work for a good grade. I felt like she made me a better writer.

Lots of work, two short essays, then a 10 page papers with 10 annotated articles that take longer than the paper. Tough grader on initial draft, but more generous on revised versions. Allowed 3 unexcused absences, used textbook for 1 assignment, always willing to help and also cares about your learning. If you put forth the effort you'll do well.

Mrs. Halm is one of the nicest teachers I've had! You have no tests or quizzes in class just three papers but you get to pick the topic so you're writing on something you find interesting. She's always there for extra help and is more than happy to give it to you. She's an amazing teacher and makes writing a little more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Prof. Halm is an amazing teacher that I am so grateful to have met. I want her to help me with every essay I ever write because she has made me not so scared to write. You must attend her class but trust me you wont want to miss. There are no test or quizzes, just three essays. The last one, ten pages, took me 2 hours because I was well prepared!

Mrs. Halm is one of the nicest people I have ever known, however I don't really like her as a teacher. For a 100 level class, she is a very tough grader and gives tough assignments. Writing and English has always been my favorite class and this class ruined that for me. The final project is a killer 10 page paper- again, it's 100 level.

The fact of the matter is that there are some writing classes that will make you do less work, but Professor Halm is very helpful and very nice, and her teaching is very good. College is about getting a good education, not always taking the easiest classes. Professor Halm will give you a good education.

Great prof. You have to put in a lot of effort to do well in this class, but it is worth it. Halm will help you along if you actually do the work. She expects you to be very passionate about your assignments, which can be difficult considering the lenth and work required in her papers. Overall, good course and good teacher
