Comment:

It's nice to see Professor Holtgrefe still teaching after many years. I took her Intermediate and College Algebra class in 1987-1988 and achieved the highest grade in both sections. Even though I had Algebra in High School she did a much more thorough job with the fundamentals, like long division polynomials.

Comment:

Professor Holtgrefe is a difficult professor to follow. She is all over the board and sometimes blocks it so you couldn't see it. But her personality makes up for the difficulty. She answers any questions and tries her very best to help you past the class. I am taken her again for College Algebra.

Prof Holtgrefe teaches very very very fast!She skips steps and is all over the board, literally leans on the board and erases it with her hand.You get extra points on the test for attendance and homework. Definetly do the homework because you pretty much copy the homework questions on the test in order to pass, because it is hard to learn from her.

Overall she is a very helpful teacher. At first I was a litlle skeptical but throughtout the semester she was one of my favorite teachers. She reviews the homework a little fast but will answer any questions you may have. I would take her AGAIN!

She's really nice, a little odd. Her teaching methods just didn't help me succeed, she hurries through problems on the board not explaining them at all, while asking questions randomly to students, often causing embarrassment to her students. She puts the hardest questions on the test, and gives no review. See if you can find a better math teacher.

The best math teacher that I have ever taken, Mrs. Holtgrefe really helps you learn even if math is not your strong subject. If your scared of math, don't worry. Excellent teaching methods, a pro in her field and a great all around person, she is always there to help. Took her for Intermediate Algebra and Basic as well and both were just as good.

This professor is the best Math professor I have ever had. I struggle in math and with Dr. Holtgrefe's help I was able to understand and pass the class. She cares that her students pass and is willing to come in early and stay later to help you. The only reason you could fail this class is if you don't try at all.

I needed one more math(college Algebra)for my degree. Although Math is not my subject(AT all)I WORK hard,used the tutor lab and Met the teacher there. She goes over information Fast in class but she saw my effort & completed all my homework, I believe that alone passed me.

I LOVED HER. SHE ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT HER STUDENTS. SHE MAY TALK FAST BUT IF U ASK HER TO SLOW DOWN SHE WILL. SHE WILL ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU HAVE UNTIL U AN UNDERSTANDING. SHES VERY FUNNY!! best math teacher ever!!!! she's very nice, a little eccentric, but she involves the class and actually works the problems WITH you, and involves the class in the solving process. she makes math fun! she gives points for doing homework, and is extremely nice and helpful. i got a C in my high school college algebra class, but managed to get an A!

Dr. Holtgrefe is a great teacher. She helped me to get through Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra. She is willing to work with everyone as long as you give the effort and do your homework and come to class. She is very fair. She does go a little fast but make sure to copy all the stuff on the board and you will do fine.

Ms. H was a great teacher! Yes, she went quickly but you are in college now....take notes before you step into the classroom! She is sweet and REALLY did everything she could to make sure you didn't fail. She gives bonus points for showing up to class and doing your homework...not many teachers would do that. I would for sure recommend her!!!

dr, holtgrefe is awesome ive taken basic and itermediate algebra with and in both of those classes i got an A. if u come to class and do the hw and the practice test you will be fine. i think its impossible to fail her class because she gives alot of points for attendance and hw. if anyone take her the least ull get is a b in her class.

Worse math teacher @ SCC! The only reason I have an A in her class is because I spent the semester teaching myself. She goes to fast & is unclear refuses to spend time on sections students struggle with. This class was a waste of my time & money. Not sure who is posting good things about her cause THEY ARE WRONG! I warn everyone DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
