Prof. Tosi cares more about his students than any other professor I've seen. He's always available to help, and will always bend over backwards to accommodate students. Generally, lectures move fast and are engaging. There is homework, but never unmanageable.

I took Intensive Advanced Italian II with Professor Tosi and had a good semester! It is definitely a more challenging class as the Italian you are learning gets a bit more complex but Tosi is very interested and knowledgeable about the material so you will learn a lot. He lectures a lot which means you don't have to talk much in class.

At times he's mean to students (once said "Name, you are always causing problems"). Throws random stuff on quizzes that weren't taught in class. Focuses heavily on obscure exceptions to the grammar rule rather than the rule itself. Not hard to get good grade bc bases final grade on participation and in class performance as much as the exams.

Comment:
Tosi's style is very aggressive. He interrupts and talks over students (which is unacceptable for a language class). His lectures are boring and factually incorrect rants about his opinions, and you have to agree. It's not a remotely difficult class, and he's a very easy grader. But I dreaded going to this class daily it was so unpleasant.

Tosi is the man. He makes class fun and is very clear on what is going to be on the tests/quizzes with outlines that he sends us. Pretty easy grader too.

This class isn't awful. If you're interested in Italian, you'll learn it. It moves pretty fast, but if you put the effort in, you can get an A pretty easily. Tosi is fun and interesting and he's a great professor.

Giuseppe is one of the best professors I have had at Georgetown. This is my second semester in a row taking his class, and I am only upset that I won't be able to continue the streak next semester. He's hilarious, a fairly easy grader, and really makes an attempt to get to know the students in his class.

Giuseppe is the greatest (GOAT)! I've taken two classes with him and couldn't be happier. He's funny, caring, and actually wants to get to know his students. He's always there for help and loves to sit and have random conversations. A must take for anyone considering taking Italian at Georgetown.

Tosi is a wonderful professor. Really enjoyed being in his class. Might be a bit intimidating at first but he's really sweet. Threw multiple class parties during the semester and even told us ghost stories for Halloween. Wish I could take him again. Make sure to do all the homework though and participation is a must. Super easy final

This was by far my easiest class freshmen year. Although it's 6 credits, there is literally no homework. He gives you the vocab work bank so tests are a breeze. He gets some taking used to but at the end of the day he's hilarious. In the words of Italians, "questo corso e la dolce vita"

If you show up and participate he'll give you a good grade. The class isn't honestly that challenging, its just that he goes on quite a few tangents about some pretty weird stuff...

A genuinely nice guy who really wants all of his students to do well. Plus, he's absolutely crazy in a hilarious, endearing way, which is great for making the hour-long classes feel less like work and more like entertainment. If you have a solid background in another romance language-or even if you dont-you'll breeze through this class no problem.

Tosi is sweet, helpful, and fun, so if you're going to take Italian every day in Intensive, you should take it with him. Very little day to day homework; just some quizzes, a couple tests and compositions. He explains things quite clearly and is always willing to help in office hours. I learned a great deal of Italian in just one semester with him.

Professor Tosi genuinely cares about his students. He has an informal class setting and makes a genuine attempt to get to know each of his students. His Intensive classes live up to their description and do move quickly, which makes it easy to get lost. But if you are willing to devote the study time and actually read the chapter, take Tosi.

Tosi is a great professor. You need next to no talent to get an A in his class as he makes it deliberately easy if you're prepared to put in even the smallest amount of work. He can be a little emotional but generally keeps classes interesting and informal. He seems to genuinely care about his students and if you want to you can learn a lot.

If you don't take yourself too seriously and have the maturity to step outside of high-school style teaching, take a class with Tosi. As long as you have a sense of humor and can step back to enjoy some of the hilarious discussions you have in class, you will find it to be great

Obvious that he cares about his students beyond the classroom and is thus helpful, though he will come down on you when frustrated. His grading can be erratic. However, the discussion style of classes provides opportunity to learn to actually speak the language (passed proficiency), but you must be extremely tactful in arguing with him (or don't).

Tosi is a cool guy. class is sometimes kind of random/not helpful at all for the tests though. the only annoying thing were really the tests themselves, which he doesn't make, the department does, so it's nothing you can really fault him for. papers can basically be turned in whenever. nice guy, but does play favorites.
