Comment:
Prof Rohrbaugh is a great. He is very serious about the things he teaches and he expects his students to give effort in class. Some of the things can be challenging to process, but they provoke a lot of good thinking that has to do with morals which is super interesting. The way he teaches it is very good, but you MUST be able to work with others.

Rohrbaugh is an incredibly interesting guy who is passionate about his material. While attendance is technically only a small percentage of the grade, you will have daily in class participation assignments with your group that add up to a large portion of the grade. Would recommend him if you need to take a philosophy course and watch his videos.

He is an exceptional teacher who is definitely accessible in office hours and wants to help you succeed with this tough material. His tests are all online but they are quite difficult but if you got to class then you should be fine. Also if you miss you cannot get credit on in-class assignments. He can be long-winded but will answer any questions.

Very easy class, all his test are online and open note. Gives extra credit every week that adds up to 7.5 points on overall grade. No final exam. You just have to go to class to do group work and you'll get an A.

Honestly his class is so easy if you show up to every single class and do the extra credit and journal entries. His tests were pretty hard, but I still made a high A in the class just by showing up and working in class and doing all the extra credit and journal entries. I really suggest you take him if you just need to knock out an ethics credit.

To me, Guy is one of the best professors I've ever had. He makes the material interesting, and if you pay attention in class an take notes, the tests should be easy. The bulk of the grade is done through assignments, and he gives 7.5% extra credit to be added unto your overall score. However, he does talk slowly, and he draws out his points.

Ok, Philosophy is a class you're required to take at Auburn. Dr. Rohrbaugh, as I've heard is the "lesser of all evils" professors and while he's not terrible and seems nice, the active learning setup is terrible. Advice I wish I would've known: WATCH THE VIDEOS! You'll think they're a waste of time but they'll help you do well. It's a tough class.

Although he is a nice guy, he is so boring to listen to. The class is "active learning" so you have to participate. I never have understood any of the material in the class. The tests are online on your own time, but they are very difficult. I definitely don't recommend this class and Dr. Rohrbaugh makes it harder by not lecturing.

TERRIBLE. His wording on every exam quiz/assignment is RIDICULOUS. I am a senior, 'A' student. The class average on exams should NOT be C/Ds in ETHICS. Apparently there are wrong opinions that don't deserve unbiased grading- he only counts opinions that match his own. You spend so much time just trying to interpret his poor wording. TAKE ELSEWHERE!

Good class. Tests are hard but are open book, open internet. You have to prepare in order to succeed on them. Weekly quizzes, takes the average of two scores. Option to complete extra credit which adds 5% to your grade and an 89 is considered an A. Watch the lectures and do the readings and post to the discussion boards and you'll be fine.

The class is really not hard at all if you take all of the extra credit quizzes and regular quizzes on time. You can get away with not reading anything and just guessing on the quizzes because he gives you two shots at it. Just pay attention in class (which is easy because he is very entertaining) and don't skip class.

Don't take this class. Don't let the online quizzes and tests fool you. This class was the worst. The tests are super hard and he tells you that the quizzes have nothing to do with them but they do. His lectures are hard to follow and when I went to his office hours (numerous times btw) for help, he only made it worse. It's a miracle I have a B rn.

This class is not easy. Guy gives you a ton of reading to do. He makes his quiz/test questions very vague. His tests are online now so you can try to find the answers using your notes (not very helpful) or by reading notes on the readings. He calls roll attendance every day, no free passes if you accidentally miss class.

Best Active Learning class I've yet to take. Dr. Rohrbaugh has a keen sense of humor and is a great lecturer. The class activities were not only engaging but truly helped one better understand the texts in question. He was willing to discuss and helpfully critique my papers before they were due. This class provides a great philosophical foundation.

I really enjoyed this class structure! All of the tests and quizzes are online and you can take them anytime until the due date. The lectures are long and can be boring and he takes attendance everyday. However, he posts videos explaining the topics covered in class and provides tons of easy extra credit quizzes. I would recommend this class!

Guy is a pretty cool dude. Interesting lectures and he's funny. All quizzes are online and some discussions are online. Class participation is 10% of your grade. Supplemental video lectures are given through canvas as well as all readings. Not too difficult if you pay attention in class and do the readings.

This class wasn't terrible. I really enjoyed the material but we always has a lot to read and it was time-consuming. He's funny and there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. There are also lots of grades so take that as you will. I think it's a good thing because if I bomb some quiz I have many chances to bring it up.

Guy is the best professor at Auburn. The class is reading-heavy, but he usually just summarizes them in his lectures immediately after. He is very thorough in answering questions & is very accessible outside of class. There is an extra credit opportunity every week. He is very laid-back, approachable, & makes philosophy understandable. TAKE HIM!
