Enthusiastic, caring, liberal(but I forgave her). I learned more than I expected to. She gave a lot of work but was reasonable about it. She pushed us hard but appreciated our efforts. And each class provoked deep thought. Good professor!

So enthusiastic, she falls all over herself because she's full of knowledge and ideas. She helped me become a better writer, and FYI, the class is a lot of work, not easy, but worthwhile. She's a smart lady.

Response to 2/12/05- Jan has students think critically for ourselves, try to make sense of content, and to develop our own personal meaning as we become professionals. Her products are her students, and the lives we touch, maybe more. She has hands on experience and academic theory. What I learned from Jan has retained me as a teacher.

I had Jan as a professor several years ago and at the time I didn't realize how much she knew and was able to pass on to me. Now, as a classroom teacher, I have come to appreciate what she had to say and the picture of what a real teacher should look like if public education has any chance of creating an enlightened nation.

I'm not sure how "megalomaniac" got into this since Jan is about service and about giving of oneself for a cause. Her passion for the subject and for service-oriented experiences is amazing... and contagious! It's obvious when she's nervous, but that just makes her more likeable. Jan's sweet - so incredibly bright - and works in her students' favor

Jan is the most energetic and innovative teacher I have had in the ED dept. She tries to help us see students as valuable individuals. The school system wouldn't be so broken.

Jan is a meglomaniac pure and simple. She wanted control and now she has it. She has no publications in the field, no long-term success. Century High School still tells horror stories about her. Sadly, what she "teaches" will only cause you problems in your actual teaching practice. Where'sJeff?

Jan is not preparing teachers to teach in the public schools with state standards. She just wants to save kids' souls and doesn't worry if they become critical thinkers. She is very narrow minded and only sees things HER way. Don't be fooled by her peppy character-she will shaft you in the end.

Jan is a vibrant teacher. Her class is challenging, but not very difficult. I learned a lot. We had to do a bunch of 2-3 pg. papers and a research paper at the end.
